Yeah semi modular is better, much longer cords. Also bronze level power supply is really all you need. No need to over spend for Gold or Platinum level unless you find them on a good sale. I have had bronze power supplies last just as long as golds. So now I just rock with bronze and save money. I would also buy some case fans. Usually the case fans that come with cases are crap. But that is something you can decide later if you determine you not getting enough air flow. I have 5 fans. 2 in the front, 2 on the CPU heatsink and 1 in the back. I have space to add 2 more to the top if I wanted to, but the temps are fine currently.

      2. That SSD going to fill up mighty fast being only 500GB. So I hope hope you using a regular HDD as well.

      3. Your power supply on the weak side. I would bump it up to 750 watts. You can find 750 watt power supplies for under $100.

Also fair warning. Fully modular power supply cables are short and a pain in the butt to work with.
      I agree with GMSS,

      1) I paid $450 for this EVGA 1070 Ti but there was 1080s going for roughly the same price. You can OC the 1070 Ti to produce stock 1080 performance, but why do that when you can do a 1080 Duke for a few bucks more ($470).

2)I'd start with that 500Gb SSD, then plan on an M.2. Once you are able to buy one, throw your OS and any editing software on the M.2. Now your free to use the 500Gb for just games. You will never have enough space, so plan on what you want to play consistently, those go on your SSD. Then buy a 1TB spin drive ($50) and put on single player games like The Witcher 3, Far Cry 5, Alien: Isolation, etc. Load times in those titles won't be a detriment.

Now you have an M.2 for a very quick operating system, a decent size SSD for a solid rotation of games, I'd guess 10 to 15 titles, and a large HDD for backups & SP games.

      3) That 550w is fine for a 1060, but will be near the high side for a 1070 Ti. At min I'd go 650w, but like GMSS said, you can't go wrong with a 750w now and be done with it. It will last you through another build and you won't have to ever worry about stressing it in the near future.

Are you buying parts all at once? You can find some nice deals if you are willing to buy parts here and there as they go on sale.

Here's an 850w platinum EVGA SuperNova for $90

Thanks again for the help guys, here's my list and I started buying some parts for it already. Will have it all around 10/12 and be ready to build then.

I got a 1070 ti for $365 new on ebay yesterday directly from EVGA...1080 might be only a little more but I couldn't pass up this deal.

Quality budget build. Gonna go this route setting up my cousins rig but go 1080. Love the case too.

The motherboard is awesome too, I had the gaming 8 and what I like about the gaming series is that it has built in WiFi (really good WiFi) and Bluetooth.

Not familiar with the mouse but if you grab a g502, you won’t be sorry, best mouse I ever used and it’s so comfortable and only 20 bucks more.

Mouses are subjective imo once you are in the tier of mouses with the best sensors. I had the g502 but did not like the mouse shape/size/weight at all and felt uncomfortable to me. I sold it and tried the g403 which I've stuck with since.

I swear by my Nixeus Revel, and at around $30-35 it can't be beat for the price.

Plus I love the old intellimouse form factor.

I bounce between MMO mice, currently enjoying this Roccat - a brand I hadn't heard of until I came across it on Amazon.

Casting my vote for the g502. After using a MadCatz r.a.t. 5 for the last few years (RIP MadCatz, loved that mouse) I've been using the g502 the last few weeks and couldn't be happier.

Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad to hear you like the mobo, I was wondering if this would be a good one to go with. It seems solid and I do like the built in Wifi...it's about the same price difference as if I went with a cheaper mobo but a wireless adapter.

I'll take a look at that mouse you suggested, I've never really used mouse and keyboard so this will be a huge adjustment.

The PC is complete!!! Thanks to all for the help and advice, overall it took about 4 hours and it was a lot of fun.

Can't wait to start gaming like crazy on it.
