Love the Dan cases, I've been looking at ITX cases for a while trying to downsize before I go back to school. The Cerberus is about as small as I can go and trust the CPU cooler to do its job, still waiting to see what AMD comes through with for the next round.

You're right, even if it's not their fault people will bend over backwards to continue railing against them for it. Thanks internet! I suspect these publishers could have contractual arrangements with other stores about price matching / lower price offers, kind of like retail and minimum advertised pricing.

Tempted to pick up all the formerly Playstation exclusive quantic dream games.

Played Hades for the first time last night, pretty neat game.

I'm tempted to try Hades. I haven't bought anything on Epic. I do have their collection of free games though somehow I missed The Witness. I played it a lot on PS4 but would have loved a free version on PC. Oh well.


Hades is the only game I'm interested in. I have no interest in buying Borderlands 3 at $50 or $60. I'll wait till it's someday $20 or less. I don't need it immediately. I still want to play through the updated version of Part 1.

Planning on building a PC in the coming months, so I'm coming here to ask for help in finalizing the specs for my planned PC. Looking for a PC that can run 1080 or 1440 at 120-140hz on ultra/high settings. I went on reddit and they suggested this:

If your budget allows, definitely go for the 2080. The 2070 will be fine at 1080p but if you really want 1440p on Ultra at 120+ fps, get the 2080 if you can afford it.

The extra space in the SSD is nice, but if you don't consistently have a LOT of games installed the 1tb would suffice and you'd be better suited picking an HDD for extra storage of files - or a traditional SSD. Again if you can afford it, grab the 2tb. I'd still recommend pairing the m.2 with another SSD that has only the OS on it.

Not sure on that MB, but as long as it takes the AMD chip and supports the m.2 drive, you should be good to go.

The 49" Samsung looks amazing but thats probably TOO wide and kinda unnecessary, but there was the LG GK950 that looks good too, any other suggestions? Definitely 1440p since id rather spend the extra $ for the 2080.

I use a 1TB SSD and it holds all my games I’d ever need at one time.

I have several VR games on it as well plus some other games but listed the GB hogs.. Not to mention 4 apps of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

I’ve still got plenty of room. Bigger would be nice but a 1TB SSD and a decent storage drive will be just fine. Don’t get a small SSD just for the OS.. I did that with my first one and it really isn’t a good idea especially since SSDs are fairly cheap now.

Acer Predator x27 1440p is the monitor to get..I researched for a long time, nearly a year, and it was the one I decided on. And believe you me, having owned it for about 8 months, it's AWESOME!!

Best of all its come down some in price since I got it...looks to be about $549 now

Yeah love this monitor, probably my favorite to game. The movements in games is so silky smooth. I have an ultra wide as well but prefer this monitor to game on

I had a weird issue waking up this morning. My main monitor, the one I linked a few posts ago, was turned on, but not displaying anything. I was able to see it in the nVidia Control Panel, but when trying to select it to activate it I could never actually check the box. After searching around online, I saw it was actually not that uncommon of a bug with nVidia. The solution was simple, unplug the monitor for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and it should be able to be activated again as part of your display. I unplugged it, gave it 2-3 minutes, then plugged it in and tried to select it in the control panel. No luck. However, I was able to just use the Windows Display Settings to activate the display and now it is all working like usual.


Only posting this in case anyone else here ever comes across a monitor randomly not being activated and being unable to activate it. I don't know what causes the issue, but it was something that occurs frequently enough to be able to find a solution for it on the nVidia forums rather quickly.
