Keep the features coming Sony! Just getting started

Any update on the patch for mp3 playback? And maybe YouTube app?

    Edit: workaround for YouTube app

Nothing new on MP3 and CD playback yet, just that it's coming at a later date. Shu said that it was one of the features pushed back in priority for the launch because their primary focus was on the gaming features. He didn't think there would be a huge backlash for delaying it.

It doesn't support flash. No plans to support it.

Ok....so Im guessing it's pretty much the same/identical to the PS3 web browser.

So if I want to play Final Fantasy X on my PS4 I need to go out and buy it on PS2 first? Same with The Last of Us and so on and so forth.

That kinda defeats the purpose of this whole thing in my opinion. Its essentially making the system backward compatible for a possible monthly fee.

Maybe others feel differently, but if they are charging a monthly fee I might as well buy a PS2 for $45 and just play PS2 games on that.

Or am I way off here. Am I missing something?

I envision a streaming-game service that is structured similarly to Netflix.

You don't have to buy it for ps2 either to play it. I don't think playstation now works by reading discs you own or will own. You pay them either by title or subscription and you can access those games on your ps4/vita through playstation now.

Since gaikai was announced, I fully expected to have to pay an additional subscription to use the service much like music unlimited. I don't see how paying a monthly subscription defeats the whole purpose of backwards compatibility. I believe that was the entire purpose when they partnered up with gaikai

If you want to play FFX (if it is ever available) you'll do it all via Playstation Now, be it a rental or purchase or available as part of some subscription.

This is not backward compatibility in any form, it is a service that will offer old games to you for $ on a number of platforms.

I wonder how much of the world has the 5mb/s recommended connection for PS Now.

Our internet infrastructure needs a face-lift then.
