An FYI for The Show newbies, Season mode is more than one season, it's basically a Franchise Lite mode. I like dealing with just my 40-man roster rather than my AA/AAA teams, so I always go Season mode.

I don't think I ever knew that. So what are the main differences between season mode and franchise? Some of the things in franchise mode are pretty tedious.

I used Marino and A&S's sliders that you (I believe it was) posted here a few days ago. The only thing I changed was I moved Injuries from 8 down to 5 (default).

There's no training or scouting in season mode, though players do progress/regress. There's a draft, but it only goes five rounds. And instead of having AA and AAA teams, you just have a 40-man roster. You concern yourself with your MLB team and then have 15 "inactive" players who are at AAA.

I'm trying to remember now, but it seems like you may not have the Rule V draft and some other things in the offseason. But there is an offseason, where you sign free agents, etc., and then move into Season 2 and so on.

A lot of people see "Season" mode and think it's just a single season.

Hopefully Nintendo got some more games out our announce something Zelda related.
Between PS4 and WiiU (as well as pc) my gaming needs are covered.

Does anybody have any tips for hitting for a newbie at The Show? I'm using sliders based on the ones posted in here (and the same as my Online franchise), but am having a terrible time. I think patience is my main problem right now, but I really have no strategy.

On the flip side I'm really enjoying pitching.

My typical approach, with no strikes, I play manual guess pitch, not the mechanic, but actually holding the PCI on a location that I am sitting on. If I get the pitch I want, I try and get good wood on the ball, if it isn't what I am looking for, take the pitch. After I have a strike on me, my approach changes slightly. Now I am waiting on the ball longer and trying to go the other way with it. I want as much time as I can to read the pitch and get solid wood on the ball. 2 strikes, just trying to fight off anything close, and hope a mistake comes that I can get solid contact on. Before you have 1 strike, don't swing at anything you don't have squared up and ready to hit hard.

Online on IGN and a few other gaming review websites. That is how I watched it the past 5 years.

Spike will typically show MS and EAs conferences. Sony will stream theirs on consoles as well.

For some reason I have to restart my controller each time I launch a game. It works fine within the menus from initial power on.

Hey guys, I'm going to go out in the morning and try to find a store here (Japan) that sells PS4s. If I find one, do you think it will be an issue getting it to work for me ? I haven't heard anything about games being region locked.

You can buy games and accessories here on base, but not the PS4. The only thing they get is the XB1 and it's going to take close to a month for a PS4 to ship here because of my ship's current status.

I hope shortages aren't an issue either. I just really need a console and while the One is popular with everyone on base, I'm a Playstation guy at heart and that's where all my Battlefield bros are at.

If it's a big deal or a hassle I may grab a One in the morning before they run out again, but I would rather have my PS4.

Region-free, for games at least.

I think the Blu-Rays and DVDs are still region locked, however. The only issue there would be DVDs - Japan and America share the same region for Blu-Rays.

For DVDs, US is Region 1. Japan is Region 2.

For Blu-Rays US and Japan are both Region A, where as most of Europe is Region B.

Don't take my word for the DVDs being region locked on the console though, I honestly don't know as I've never tested it out. It's all with your PSN account for games, really. I have an EU/JP/NA PSN account for each just to get some of the free games that come out there. They're all supported when I play them on my PS+ (NA, of course) account - even though I had to download them through a different regions store.

Last headline I saw was the ps4 being outsold by the Vita, not sure I'd expect to have a problem finding one in Japan.

And they are selling for 39,000 yen (390 USD). It would be cool to get one on base and cut out the taxes, but I'll deal with it. I just can't see myself getting that One unless I get desperate, especially knowing there's a price cut coming for it. I shouldn't have got rid of the PS4 I had. I just didn't want to travel 7500 miles with it on a plane.
