It scares me to think that some day, someone like me who only buys physical copies (doesn't even play online) will some day have to go to some kind of an 'old record store' (like we have today) to buy one of "those old discs we used to have years ago"...if it will even exist for newer games.

I hope the gaming industry doesn't force me to go online/digital exclusively...that might be the day I retire the controller.

I'm in a similar boat. Forgot to deactivate my defective ps4 and make my new one the active one. So I cant play my digital WWE2k because I cant log into the ps4.

I managed to go online for the first time on my PS4. It let me set all the "who can see you..." etc etc. stuff, then it kicked me out. Does activating a PS4 come after all these questions?

Ahhh so the digital releases are completely bug free and void of needing said patches day 1? I didn't realize this....

Plus you can always get into the store to: A) buy the game at 12:01 am and B) have to pray that Psn is working to play, yikes . Sounds like a winner to me.

All usually at full price unless you don't mind waiting a year to save $20,and that's only because the next iteration is usually imminent. You also lose any and all resale/trade in value. And all for what, to save a little bit of time and energy from getting off the couch and changing the disc? Idk....just not worth it to me.

50% of my games are digital downloads. I've been playing them all while PSN has been down. Just unselect the connect to Internet box in network settings.

I'm back up. Finally was able to use the store and downloaded Super Mega Baseball with the PS Store digital codes I had.

Everything seems to be going smoothly.

I went online again, and it said that I was supposed to receive and email and verify it. I haven't received anything even after asking to resend it. Even went to the webpage on my PC and asked to send the email, but received nothing.

I was on today for most of the day.
My grandson is using the PS3 now....playing LBP3....I think he's online with some of his friends.

PS3 uses different infrastructure, pretty sure problems there are just collateral damage compared to overall issues, kinda like the problems connecting to EA servers via PS4.

I'm still offline too. Haven't been able to get on at all over the last 3 days. I usually don't play online, but I been wanting to buy something since there are some good sales and of course when I want to do that I can't.

Hopefully they will extend the sales and give us something.

I also have a question, if you play a new game right now will it download the patches for the game or not?

I don't think it would download the patches. It doesn't have a connection to the servers that host the updates.
