I run a portable amplifier w/built in mic (Creative Sound Blaster E1) and my Superlux HD-681 EVO headphones. Audio heaven and I can't enjoy gaming/movies without this set up, lol.

How good are those headphones without the amp? How's the bass? and, does the mic on the amp work with no issues on the ps4?

*I haven't used them without the amp; so I couldn't give a fair assessment.

*Bass is good, but not exaggerated.

*The mic on the amp works with no issues on the PS4/XbOne

The 3.5 mmj on the ps4 controller is terrible. Constant sound breakage which negates the use for long sessions. I prefer to stick to a real headset with its own adapater

Never had any of that sort of trouble with it, of course I only use it if my golds die which isn't often, but it never gave me any issues.

I've never once had any sound breakage; not even when the battery was running low. I have two launch controllers.

Add me to the list that has no issues, I've used my stock headset since day one and had absolutely no issues whatsoever with it.

I can also attest to NEVER having an issue with the 3.5mm audio jack, on any of my DS4 controllers. And I've used several different headsets... from the pack-in, to the Vita ear buds, Turtle Beach P4Cs, HarmonKardon CLs, and even my stock XB1 headset.

I've also had no problems. I've used everything from iPhone earphones to audio technicas.

My controller is not broken or jacked up. Is a new one and all my DS4 are in excellent condition. I use turtle beach ear buds

There is cracking sounds at times which stinks. It happens on every controller, it could be WIFI interference or whatever but it does happen and I have seen others write about it here

I get this at times with my Golds. It seems to only be in Madden 16, but there are times its crackling away when they are fully charged, so I don't think its related to just being plugged in to the matrix, I mean controller.

I play with headphones 90% of the time. Most of which plugged into the controller. Never had anything like that. Sorry you have
