I read somewhere else that they're both wired. Not 100% positive and I don't remember the site. The cable is detachable so that you can store them, but I think it's required otherwise. Not completely positive though.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I guess that falls in line with them being designed for e-sports and going for the best response time possible?"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony announces two new PS4 controllers esp for eSports...these look awesome. Competition for the Xbox One Elite Controller?
My question is, are these wired only or are the wires shown optional??

They are not even made by Sony and are wired only. Sony should make their own damm controller like MS did and be done with it.
This is a money grab and making them only wired is a no go but that is because they are designed for the E Sports player not the casualComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If they both, or at least one of them, end up being awesome controllers it won't really matter who makes them. If they both suck, then that will be disappointing."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

And being wired means this is a NO GO....Sony already said they wont do an Elite controller type which sucksComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If Sony made it then you know it will be awesome just like MS did with the Elite...They will be more money but in end they know best of how to make a controller that fits their console.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony making it doesn't mean anything, they made the DS3 and I hated it. If they made one, they may not even offset the sticks.
It makes no difference in this case who makes the product, the only thing that matters is the product.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Come on, man. That's just ridiculous. First party companies aren't the only ones that can make good products. Third party products also aren't the only ones that can have issues. That argument just sounds like fanboy speak. Headsets? Charging stations? Thumb sticks? Quite a few of those are better than their equivalent first party offerings.Comment

Headets, thumbsticks and etc etc are different storyComment

I thought the PS3 Tournament controller was better than the DS3. It was wired, but I liked the setup a lot more.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The specs are outdated when they were released. Even these refreshes aren't close to cutting edge at all.
That being said if people feel like spending their money on it, more power to them. The ps4 pro is something I get to entirely ignore because it's pretty useless at best for me and then I get to pick up a Scorpio because it plays 4k video.
I agree they came out under powered, but I also understand they didn't want to come out with a $600 console like the PS3 when it first launched and scare consumers off. A friend is buying my PS4 for $200 and since I already have a 4K HDR tv it was a no brainer for me to get the pro. I'm not a pc gamer since I been there and done that and I prefer consoles. Still upset that Sony didn't include a 4K blu-ray drive which made no sense for us. Like you I'm also picking up a Scorpio.

That controller at the bottom is a straight up Xbox imitation. Sorry but that's way too obvious. I always preferred the Xbox controller over Sony's DS4.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If Sony made their own special controller it will trump all third party attempts and that I am confident in.
But anything wired is no go for casual gamers....Comment
