yea it offers 4K at 30fps for 4k tv

it offers 1080p at unlocked fps closer to 60fps with same ps4 resolution and effects

it offers 1080p with enhances visuals at 30fps

These pics don't do it justice but Ratchet and Clank looks ridiculously good in HDR. Definitely the starkest difference between SDR and HDR that I've seen.

I have a felling that HDR is going to be one of those things you really need to see in person to see the difference because from most of these photos I have seen HDR looks the same or slightly slightly better. I think the combination of HDR and 4k is what is going to really make things look better.

These pics don't do it justice but Ratchet and Clank looks ridiculously good in HDR. Definitely the starkest difference between SDR and HDR that I've seen.

Tbh, the differences are very apparent and I can only imagine what it looks like in person. Thanks to all you guys posting pics of SDR vs HDR. It's much appreciated by me. Not so much by my wallet as now that curved 4K HDR Sammy is looking realllll good.

Yes it is in fact something you have to see in person to get the full effect of how good it is. I was skeptical for awhile then once I said f it and went in on a HDR 4K tv (Samsung) and the Xbox one s it's a very nice improvement. Once Devi start optimizing games for it regularly it's going to be even more amazing imo

Yeah I don't know how long 4k has been a thing but I never heard about 4k in till like late 2014 and I never heard about HDR in till the pro was shown. I have seen some differences comparisons of HDR on the internet where it is really big and some where its hard to tell. Next gen I am sure ever game will have HDR and most games will most likely be full 4k. Considering Xboxone Scorpio is going to have like 8 TF and we know ps5 will be coming out later I wonder how many TF ps5 will have and if all Scorpio games are really going to be full 4k or not.

I just can't see the value here. At all. I keep wanting to find a reason to get it. Searching for something. But nothing at all does anything for me. Will just keep my launch system. I've watched stuff all day trying to find a reason to buy it.

I'm right there with you. I've been reading the reviews and watching the videos and I can barely tell the difference. I'm going ahead and canceling my preorder today. Maybe I'll look into getting one next year but for now it's not worth it to me.

Yes you might need to if you want 4k output. I bought some cords that were branded 4k HDMI 2.0 a couple years ago and they turned out to be garbage. Cords longer than 10 feet are especially problematic.



Whats the brand and name of the cord you are using?

I'm not sure of the brand. I purchased it at Best Buy less than three years ago. It's black, gold plated, and almost feels like snake skin lol. I don't think the brand name is on the cable itself. I'd have to check.

It's embedded into the wall and runs up to the bedroom, so I could play in the basement or in bedroom at any time. Just would be a pain having to replace it.

Yeah unfortunately tomorrow I will also be canceling my pre order.....It looks good but not enough for 400 bucks...maybe next year!!!

I just find it odd that DF is talking about "substantial improvements" at 1080p for certain games and other sites aren't. The shots and vids I have seen of TF2 and CoD:IW running at 1080p look clearly better than they do on my current PS4.

Eh, who knows. Looking forward to seeing it for myself in two nights

For the record, I fully admit that the Tomb Raider comparison vid posted last page from Candyland is definitely underwhelming, not denying that at all. Wonder if DF's video will show the same results, I feel like the way they talked about it already implied much better upgrades than seen in the Candyland video

I think I'm sold at this point. Looks like I can get at least $150 for my PS4. Got a coolant stand thing and maybe a game that I can trade in with it, should knock the price down to around $230-250.. that's a deal for me.
