these pics are kinda useless because HDR can only be seen in a hdr tv....believe me you will see the difference in realistic lighting and skin tones



right now am in the prison yard fight and the colors and lighting make it look like a movie compared to how the game looks like a cartoon

I don't doubt you. Just nothing is enough to make me spend the money right now on a new tv.

Is HDR something that will really translate in pics like this or is it something you need to see for yourself in person?

I've seen pics comparing the two that are a good bit different, but the last few posted in this thread, well I have to actively search to see the difference.

The last one above he said something about Christmas lights and even then I cannot tell what he's talking about (although it seems EG did)

So far this is the most negative review I have seen by quite a margin. He literally says he doesn't see much of an upgrade at all.

He also says he is going to test the hard drive speed so hopefully we get word on that soon.

Typically I trust DF over any other site for stuff like this. I have heard DF guys use terms like "substantial" to describe the improvements numerous times already.

I've seen other reviewers using games for Pro impressions that do not support Pro Mode yet, llke BF1 and BO3 (from what I understand neither game has actually recieved its Pro Patch yet. I could be wrong about BO3, but I am almost positive BF1 has not been Pro patched yet).

Like has been said numerous times, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Pro "advantage" will probably be pretty subjective for awhile until games like Days Gone and Horizon show what the system can do.

Ok, two questions...heh..

1. Why? A good sound bar is at least a HUGE upgrade from tv speakers..it's really kind of weird to have that great of a setup with using the TV sound

2. But hey, if that's your thing then question #2....do the fans of a console really ever get so loud it would bother you?

There are exceptions to every rule but I just think this "fans are louder so watch out" stuff is kind of funny...never really hear anyone complain about this on consoles... (now PCs is a different story, some can be as loud as a freakin plane LOL!)

I just haven't pulled the trigger on a surround sound setup yet as I decided to upgrade to a 4K TV earlier this year and got a One S as well as a Pro. No more money in the budget for a sound system for the foreseeable future.

And fan noise doesn't bother me at all. I couldn't care less about it.

Yeah, DF are the only people I really trust for unbiased technical analysis.

That looks very different to me. Look at the unrealistic glow from the door in the first one. The lighting itself does feel like white noise either.

yeah, that's sort of what i figured to be the case on both of those, i know I don't have the best hearing but my wife has A+ hearing and she has never said one word about either consoles fans (and when she's around we play with the volume low) so it's a non-issue unless you're specifically looking for a gripe I think

VR-centric review says that a couple of titles are a little brighter and sharper, but the bulk of the VR library seems to be the same and that if you enjoy the current VR experience the Pro doesn't offer many advantages at this time.

I originally preordered the Pro, then cancelled it but when my girlfriend asked me what I wanted for Christmas over the weekend, I told her the Pro. She's picking it up when it releases and the nagging to let me have an "early" gift is going to be relentless, let me tell you

Those are extremely lame improvements that you need to zoom in to see. Not going to notice it simply gaming. If you play that game on a PRO with a 4K set you will see substantial differences.

I am mostly upset that most games are not getting patches so they will be exactly what is already on the PS4 that is a huge knock

I just can't see the value here. At all. I keep wanting to find a reason to get it. Searching for something. But nothing at all does anything for me. Will just keep my launch system. I've watched stuff all day trying to find a reason to buy it.
