too crazy

Im telling you you can mimmick hdr as well to SOME extent.

sitting 8 ft away from tv looks the same

I just find it odd that DF is talking about "substantial improvements" at 1080p for certain games and other sites aren't. The shots and vids I have seen of TF2 and CoD:IW running at 1080p look clearly better than they do on my current PS4.

Eh, who knows. Looking forward to seeing it for myself in two nights

For the record, I fully admit that the Tomb Raider comparison vid posted last page from Candyland is definitely underwhelming, not denying that at all. Wonder if DF's video will show the same results, I feel like the way they talked about it already implied much better upgrades than seen in the Candyland video

These pics don't do it justice but Ratchet and Clank looks ridiculously good in HDR. Definitely the starkest difference between SDR and HDR that I've seen.

I work Wed through Friday but daughter will be going in to pick up my Pro on release day. Can't wait for my "Shiny new toy"

I'm not sure of the brand. I purchased it at Best Buy less than three years ago. It's black, gold plated, and almost feels like snake skin lol. I don't think the brand name is on the cable itself. I'd have to check.

It's embedded into the wall and runs up to the bedroom, so I could play in the basement or in bedroom at any time. Just would be a pain having to replace it.

I had some trouble getting a 4k picture from my PC to my TV through HDMI. I was getting flickering and random blank screens while trying to play games. I used a bunch of different HDMI cords that were advertised as HDMI 4k 2.0 compatible but none of them worked correctly. Turns out a lot of these HDMI cords are using false advertising. I finally bought a Monoprice certified cable and that fixed the problem.

You might be OK since the PS Pro is Faux K and not really trying to do 4k @ 60fps like my PC. But if you want to use HDR you most definitely will need to upgrade your cable and it can get pricey at a 25 ft length.

This video you posted directly references numerous mentions of 1080p enhancements

I can definitely see how people would feel it is not worth upgrading at the moment though. I think Sony has failed somewhat in regards to launching the Pro with an extensive library of Pro Mode game with fully fleshed out Pro Mode enhancements, there aren't many at all in fact, and that is a loss for Sony IMO.

I definitely see where anyone could be coming from regarding the Pro.

Not necessarily a fan of IGN but the first paragraph of their rundown tells you all you need to know...

"The PS4 Pro is finally here and we've put it through its paces. While not all games are supported, the ones that are have noticeably improved graphics that really do need to be seen to be believed."

Judging visual enhancements from screens and crappy videos is not the way to go about this. The enhancements are clearly discernible for those that have actually witnessed them in person and that's all I need to hear for me to pull the trigger.

If you are on the fence I'd suggest seeing a demo in person before making your decision.

I'm almost starting to become more interested in the 60fps mode (for the games that support it, like inFamous and Tomb Raider). People seem very positive about how those games/modes are performing and feeling on the Pro so far.

Yeah I don't know how long 4k has been a thing but I never heard about 4k in till like late 2014 and I never heard about HDR in till the pro was shown. I have seen some differences comparisons of HDR on the internet where it is really big and some where its hard to tell. Next gen I am sure ever game will have HDR and most games will most likely be full 4k. Considering Xboxone Scorpio is going to have like 8 TF and we know ps5 will be coming out later I wonder how many TF ps5 will have and if all Scorpio games are really going to be full 4k or not.

4K been out since 2003. The 1st monitors started popping up around 2008 or 2009. Youtube been having 4K videos since 2010. Youtube now supports 8K and 4K HDR videos. 4K TV sets been around the same time as the PC monitors. 5K been around since 2008. First 5K TV and PC monitor came out in 2014.

HDR came out earlier this year. As of now, out of all the tv's Best Buy sells, only 65 are HDR. With most of them being 55" or bigger.

Wow thats shocking to me, I had no idea.

I feel like I didn'y buy my first 720p TV until like 2005 and at the time it felt great for my 360. I remember it was a nice Sony set and my buddies and I were all so impressed at the time, lol oh the good days
