Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I just read the tech spec for HMID 1.4 which is on the PS4 and OG XB1 and those do not offer HDR capabilities.
MS released the slim with HDMI 2.0 to allow it so how is Sony doing it on the PS4?
Is there some other way to do it?
From my understanding is that HDR10 requires 2.O but Dolby HDR Vision can be updated via 1.4
Problem is that HDR10 is what is in most tv's except LG and VizioLast edited by NYGiants4Natic; 09-08-2016, 05:47 PM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Did some research and found this..really good read as to how Sony can make the OG PS4 HDR compatible:
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/0...nd-the-corner/
HDR10 which is on all Samsungs, Sony tvs are HDR10
HDR Dolby is on LG and Vizio. This really cramps those with Samsung and Sony tv'sComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Thanks guys about the HDR info. And mestevo, my point was that even before they released the PS4, Sony was already thinking of a mid-gen upgrade. Just don't like that at all. To me, it shows lack of loyalty and respect to the consumers who got you where you are today.Comment
