The main reason I was getting the new PS4... I seriously don't know whether it's really worth it for me now.

As underwhelmed as I was by the presentation and what I was seeing, I preordered one anyway. I have a 4K TV and want to take advantage of it a little more. I know it won't be native, not even close for any of the AAA titles, but better than 1080p? Sign me up.

Still, there's a part of me that wishes they would tier it like the Steam Machines. $400 gets you this, $600 gets you this...I'd pay for whatever the top tier one would be. This is a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned but far from a leap.

I kind of wish I hadn't gotten a ps4 before now. I mean if I hadn't gotten one yet I could either have gotten a slim for 100 less then I paid for the regular ps3 or I could have paid the same 400 and gotten a more power system with a 1 Tb hard drive instead of 500 GB. I think when ps5 comes out I am going to want to see if we get a ps5.5 or something a few years after ps5 comes out.

I am not sure price is a big thing when it comes to consoles and it sounds like Scorpio is going to cost a lot. If it is 500 that is still 100 more then pro and Sony could cut the pro down to 350 by the time Scorpio comes out. If that happens you are looking at 150 price difference between the 2. That is a big difference even 100 makes a big difference with people.

So as of right now the only 1TB SLIM bundle is in Europe, I think.

Wondering if NA will get a 1TB Slim bundle

So when it comes to the power of the systems is this what we are looking at?

Ps4 is 40% stronger then xboxone? Pro is 200% more powerful then ps4 and 240%? more then xboxone? Scorpio is 400% times more powerful then xboxone? 360% more powerful then ps4? 160% more powerful then Pro? Is that right?

Eh, not really. The Pro is marketed towards the more hardcore enthusiast gamers and offers more power and added features for such, the regular PS4 or slim works just fine for everything.

This will probably be how the Scorpio will be marketed and it will be even faster than the PS4 Pro so if it comes in at a bit more of a premium price, say $500...I don't think it will be that big of a deal. $500 makes sense to me but Microsoft might have to take a loss on it at that price, we'll see.

If people are having to pinch pennies to get the Pro or Scorpio, it's probably not for them.

I am not a math guy but that seems somewhat correct. Based on what I saw from the specs, at least what we have been given so far, the Scorpio is about 33 percent more powerful than the Pro.

I dunno what type of HD controller the Pro and Scorpio are using though. I still dunno what the for sure internal clocks are for the Pro cpu

Really only 33% different between the Scorpio and PRO? I was thinking it was much more because I think xboxone is 40% less powerful then ps4 and I thought Scorpio had a bigger difference over ps4 PRO then ps4 had over xboxone. Also from what I have heard it sounds like Scorpio is more of like a gen type of jump from xboxone then Pro is compared to ps4.

We have seen how systems sale with high prices though. I don't care how powerful Scorpio is if it cost like $600 they are going to have a hard time getting people to buy it instead of buying a PRO.

Being a bit of a math guy, the Scorpio will be 42.8% more powerful than the Pro. A bunch of ways to get to that number but if 4.2 terraflops is 100%, it'll take another 42.8% of those terraflops to get to 6 terraflops.

Edit: I should mention that this is only if we use terraflops as a measure of console power which is not the only way.

Yeah without knowing all the internal specs for both consoles it is impossible to know for sure

Very good point because on paper by terraflops alone, it seems the Pro should be about 230% more powerful than the vanilla PS4 whereas everywhere you hear its ALMOST twice as powerful when factoring everything else into the equation.

So just thinking with how close the Pro comes out to Holliday time and black Friday do you guys think there will be any good sales on the Pro? Like say for 350 instead of 400 or so maybe you get a 50 gift card or something?
