Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Like many, I was surprised to see that the PS Pro will not have a UHD player. However, its not a deal-breaker for me. While its looking more like the PS VR will be a holiday gift from the wife for me, I'm left wondering if the PS Pro will be something I want to invest in. I don't have an HDR/4k Tv and I don't want to trade in my current PS4 either.
Top Reasons why I want to own one;
Support for faster frame rates for selected titles.
MMO cross-play against PC competition come to mind. Also, since the minimum requirement for PS VR is 60 fps, then the PRO will offer more visual content and clarity compared to the original.
Support 5GHz WiFi
Finally in line with the Xbox1 and the current standards. Currently, the PS4 is 2.4GHzComment

Re: UHD player
IMO, while a nice-to-have, it's still an extension/improvement on Media Center capabilities. From a pure gaming perspective, there's no real advantage. So in essence, MS and Sony are continuing with their original approach to these consoles.
Also, the HDR on the non-Pro PS4s will be a little different, and is subject to compatibility. I think it was mentioned in this thread though.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
IGN guys speak briefly about playing CoD on the Pro yesterday. Compare it to playing on a "nice PC." Unfortunately they focus more on the UHD omission than what they saw while playing on a Pro."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Just pre-ordered the Pro even though I only have a 1080p TV right now. Really hoping to see announcements or clarifications on the benefits of framerate/details/effects for 1080p versions. If it's mostly about 4k and HDR only, I can just cancel before November 10.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I wonder how vue would work on the PRO and if there would be any improvements to it. Ive never used Vue but have plans to use it when my Directv contract is up and was wondering if the resolution would be better than 720p.PSN: ckarlic

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I've run PS Vue on Fire Stick, PS3, PS4, and now Fire Tv Box. Below would be my assessment of each.- Fire Stick - Do NOT buy, far to under powered. Long long wait times.
- PS 3 - Streams fine and is no different than PS4 in this regard, problem lies in the channel guide. Its laggy and slow to load
- PS 4 - Works fantastic, only issue is using the DS4 to browse TV feels awkward.
- Fire Box - Streams like PS3/PS4, channel guide might be a second or 2 slower than PS4. Almost unnoticeable. Small minimal remote is awesome and features everything needed.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If I had to make one suggestion in this section, buy a Fire TV BOX (not the fire stick) https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-T.../dp/B00U3FPN4U for your PS Vue. The box is plenty fast enough (slightly under the PS4) but the remote makes it far easier to browse like a regular tv. IMO the PS4 is far to much system just for Vue and the Pro would be even that much more overkill.
