Hey, guys. My PS4 has started beeping and ejecting discs. It usually does it in rest mode, but last night, it did it with the power off when I was sleeping. I didn't even have a disc in the console when that happened. It just beeped 3 times. I know that it's a known problem and I've googled different fixes, but I was wondering if any of you guys have had the issue and what you may have done to fix it. Thanks!

Edit: Went back and searched this thread. Only saw one answer on it. So, the tape over the eject sensor is the best known method?

I have Yakuza 0 and Nioh. I have played a grand total of 45 minutes of anything since New Years, but want to play one of these games.

Which one? I'm not the type to switch between games. I also have Horizon to look forward to.

You're my role model. I so want to just play a game and finish it then move on. I was on my way with Bloodborne but if I do it with that , I'd never get to play anything else [emoji1]

I'll say Nioh mainly because it's a more linear game than Yakuza which is open world. Nioh is basically a better(?) version of Souls and Bloodborne so if you enjoyed those games, you'll definitely enjoy Nioh.

Another reason is that if you're going to play Horizon: Zero Dawn, do you really want to play two open world games back to back?

Obviously, depends on what kind of mood you're in and what type of game you want to play.

Thus far, for 2017, im 1 for 1. Played RE7, completed it and already traded it in. Next up is For Honor followed by Horizon. Problem is that I still have a backlog from 2016 which includes Watch Dogs 2, COD:IW, R&C and a bunch of other games. And I just bought the gold edition of The Division digitally (yes, you read that correctly) and have been messing around with it. Completed it a year ago and bought it since the gold edition was only $36 and includes the expansion pass. Wanting to play Survival (which costs $15 separately) and having to buy the game itself either way, it was a no brainer. But, it's a 2016 game and my goal for 2017 is to not have a backlog at all going into 2018 but at the very least, not have a backlog of 2017 games.

If you have a original model PS4 then just flip it over and pull out the lil rubber piece that sticks out from under your PS4 system. Once you do that everything will be fine.

Trust me you won't break your system if you do it. That rubber piece is the cause of all your problems because it touches the eject button.

Picked up a Pro and Nioh. I figured the Pro will start to payoff this year between the exclusives and whenever I get 4K display.

Can only speak for Yakuza 0, but it's really good. Much more story focused, if that's what you're more in the mood for. Good writing and some really weird, zany, and fun side content.

I'm running out of space on my playstation 4.is it smarter to get a new playstation 4 or just get a new hdd? if I go the hdd route is it hard to remove? what have you guys done?

It's real easy to switch out the hard drives and you can get a 2TB one for under $100. Or you can wait until this new update comes out and use a portable hard drive.

And we're confirmed that with this update we'll be able to play games from the external and not just store them?

I'm not sure what's going on but I haven't been able to play on my pro yet.. I keep getting a error has occurred in system software & then this morning I got a serious error has occurred in the system software & it restarts & sends me to safe mode. Sounds like to me there system update on playstation.com is buggy or broken..

What keeps causing this as now I'm gonna have to re itilize my ps4 again & reinstall the system update again. I know it's not the system itself as it worked fine the 1st day I got it..

Sony needs to stop putting out buggy software updates hopefully after this 3rd time It will work...

Yes you can play the games from your external. I have the 4.5 beta on my system and have tested.

So if I put all of my games on my 1TB External and get a new PS4 for whatever reason, they should all work just fine? Just a random question. Don't plan to get a new PS4 but these things aren't infallible

Yes




If you are looking at your dashboard, you cant even tell what game is on what HDD. Works really well
