You young guys can sit in an office chair to game on a monitor but I do that already 8 to 12 hours a day for work so when I game you will find me in my home theater seats or on the couch. My back wouldn't have it any other way...

Lol, I'm no young in myself my friend. I was skeptical at first but will probably never go back to full size tv gaming, I actually think the monitor gaming has been better on my aging eyes as well. I don't sit at a desk all day as you say you do for work so I could see how that would change ones perspective. But I love my comfy chair with lumbar support and gaming headsets for full immersion.

Update: I went with Samsung UE590 28" 4K instead of the LG asked about earlier. It looks great so far. Yea it's a older TN but I got it for a steal $250, it's 4K an improvement from my BenQ and a good cheap but effective place holder as I see what these new HDR capable monitors have to offer from this years CES.

PlayStation 4 Discussion

Im going to buy the PS4 PRO or SLIM, I just want it for two games at this moment, MLB 17 and GOD of War. Yes I have a 4K tv and the a plus, but man I have been a bit underwhelmed with the YouTube videos of the PS4 vs PS4 PRO video comparisons

You'd be really short sighted IMO to buy a slim over a Pro with a 4k TV. Not worth saving the small amount of money for how much better gaming will be in the next few years with the added power of the Pro.

I guess your right but I still haven't been that impressed just yet. All I truly want a P4 if for the SHOW. Just going on what I'm seeing in the video comparisons and from many videos I have seen thus far the visuals haven't been that mind blowing at all. I may just have to game on one myself to see I guess.

I don't even see how this is a question. The Show is gonna have pro support which will probably fix known frame rate issues and obviously be at least upscaled to 4K. And God of War will be a graphically intensive game, probably in native 4K. And don't forget about boost mode, which will help non Pro enhanced game run better.

I just think it's worth the extra money to have a more future proof console at this point, especially if you have a 4K TV. And I know you, you will probably regret not getting the Pro and then get one and wind up spending more money than you would have if you just got the Pro in the first place.

Unless it's solely about money, then I don't see any reason to not get the pro.

I got a Slim over a Pro back in November. The Slim was $220 at the time and came with a year of PSN+. With trading back Uncharted 4 and my OG PS4 I broke even. But it was solely about the money for me. The Pro also hasn't impressed me in the least but I don't own a 4K tv. Might have thought different otherwise. The boost mode now would possible have me leaning the other way but I'm very happy with the Slim. It's whisper quiet which I like. I've heard horror stories of the Pro being obnoxiously loud which was always a complaint of the OG PS4 for me.

I upgraded to a Pro when I got a 4k tv recently. The difference between NBA 2k is pretty significant. Part of that for sure is my new tv (never saw 2k on the new TV without Pro) but I think it's worth it. Without the Pro, you don't get that much benefit from a 4k tv.

I went Pro on launch day and have no regrets; I love my Pro. For me, it was the right decision, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for it.

FWIW, I know a lot of people have had issues with noise with the Pro, but mine's been quieter than my vanilla PS4 was.

You do get a ton of benefit with the pro. It's been my finding that the games like Fifa and NBA have a stable framerate. I have a plasma on game mode and the difference is pretty significant just in stability. The show had the worst framerate out of any game and I'm eager to see how it plays with a Pro patch this year.

Just got mine on January 24th no noise issues.... But I think it's due to me owning 95 percent of my games digitally... I'm in the 4.50 beta and the external hard drive support is awesome.... No more redowndloading games... I just switch them back and forth to the main HDD

I have with Madden it seemed to play faster on my ultimate team solos... For example I have the Ltd Ahman Green and he seem to cut a little better and get up field faster...... There's a channel on YouTube called digital foundry that compares all games with the pro and regular they drop content nearly every day..... But like ever ones said if you have a 4k HDR TV the pro is awesome.....

Why do you switch them back and forth? You can play them directly from the external HDD. Might be a placebo, but feel like they load faster from the external HDD as well.

In the games that support it yes.... Madden does not but nba 2k17 looks like a real game... I was playing the other day and a friend thought it was actually a game on TV..... This is how the next version of the Show will be too
