    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Guys I have the white PS4 PRO and haven't played it much until tonight , that will change plenty when the Show comes out and then when GOW comes out too . I play My Xbox one a bit more.

Here my thing , I was playing fortnite and Call of Duty online tonight and Horizon offline of course and Had tremendous stuttering issues with HDR is enable through my TV. When Turing it off it runs like normal, changed the HDMI Ports and Still the same. What could be causing this. I cant play with HDR on now, the stuttering bothering me very much. Any Help will be appreciated.

I missed the 20% off PSN deal Sony was running (and I never get the emails with 20% off codes). Does anyone have a spare one I can take off them?

Copying my saves files over to a flash drive and preparing to wipe the OG PS4. I'll be picking up a PS4 Pro later today, and with the games I'm trading in, shouldn't cost me more than $50.

That’s the way to do it! I opted to just use my PS Plus cloud storage to switch over but I only have maybe 15 games on my external.

I was going through my library of current games and none that I play, with the exception of MLB 17, are digital, so figured this would be the easiest way. I'll be getting 18 digitally once I get the Pro.

Ah I only have one that’s physical and that Wolfenstein II which I’ve not even begun yet. Trying to finish the old blood first.

                Update: It cost me $21.78.

Haven't played any games yet, was busy watching the NCAA Tournament. Got The Show 18 downloading as we speak, so tomorrow morning/afternoon will be spent playing that.

I'm so glad I upgraded to the Pro. The Show looks amazing, as does Horizon Zero Dawn. I'm usually not a big visual/graphics guy, but this feels like a pretty significant leap from what I've been playing the past few years. In a way it's rekindled my passion for gaming.

Good thing about digital is if u have another ps4/xbox another person can play the same game at the same time as you, really good for online shooters. Wasn't a fan of digital at first, but me & grandson can play together,so I kinda like it now

                      Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Any suggestions for a good PS4 (OG) stand?

The way my entertainment situation is set-up, my 10-month-old is about to start banging on some things way too close to her eye level as she learns to walk. So I need to place the PS4 far back enough that she can't reach it or even notice it. Vertical will accomplish that.

I don't mind a bunch of features or none at all but it seems everyone makes the same cooling system. With so many potential knock offs, difficult to figure out which is actual quality. Hoping someone on OS has good experiences with something, even if it's just a stand.

Preferably available on Amazon so I can get that free shipping goodness.

Question for the group: Anyone else experience a black screen for 1-3 seconds when using the Pro on a 4K TV? I had this happen a couple of times over the weekend. Seems like there's a miscommunication between the TV and the PS4. The screen quickly reverts back to what was being displayed and things are smooth from there. Could this be an HDR issue? I did have HDR on my TV turned on, but turned it off last night and enabled Game Mode on the TV (switched HDR on in The Show settings).

Does it only happen with HDR?

Mine goes black for a second when HDR is enabled, but I also get an HDR banner in the corner letting me know it’s using HDR. It does that for any HDR content, not just on the Pro.

It's usually due to 4K resolution switching, when set to Auto. I believe the XMB is RGB (for non-HDR, HDMI 2.0 screens) and some games/apps are YUB420 (HDR, 10-bit output). The PS4 switches to the best available option depending on your screen.

OK, that makes sense. I do have my settings to Auto. Should I change that to something static, or just leave it and know that from time to time this issue will happen?

I thought it was, but I had HDR OFF on the TV last night - Game Mode was enabled - and it still happened. I saw Slab's note and looks like that could be the root cause and not the TV setting.

Edit: I'm really clueless when it comes to this stuff. The beauty of 1080p was it was still plug in and play. The 4K looks amazing, but man, so many different options you have to account for now, so I feel like I'm flying blind at the moment.
