So I just got to thinking about ps5 and if it where to come out in 2020 like a lot of people think it will. What I was thinking is if it comes out late 2020 maybe Horizon 2 could be a day 1 game has that would be around 3.5 years after the first one enough time I think that could happend and than maybe come like 2021 we could get spiderman sequel has that would give them around that same amount of time. That would be pretty crazy if in around its first year you could get both of those games on ps5. Any thoughts about that?

Guerrilla Games has ramped up their studio to around 400 people as they're moving into a brand new studio. Guerrilla Games Head Herman Hulst has said that he would like to be able to release a game every two to three years. The studio will most likely have two teams in it. Main team is already in pre-production for Horizon 2 but I would expect it in March 2021. I don't think that it will be a launch title. What I do think will be a launch title will be a new Killzone game from the secondary team.

Spider Man sequel is all but confirmed to be green lit as the game is going to be awesome. Insomniac is going to be put on the map like Horizon did Guerrilla Games and the God of War reboot did for Santa Monica. Back to the sequel, Insomniac does have a few different studios and do have an amazing turnaround rate where they're crazy efficient. I can see them developing a new Ratchet & Clank game as well as Spider Man 2. I could see R&C being a PS5 launch game and Spider Man Fall 2022.

I'm personally more concerned about the console than the games. I'm not worried about the studios or the games. For PS5, the GPU will be a small increase over Xbox One X. I'm guessing an 8TF GPU just so every game can hit Native 4K. The main component im hoping for is the Ryzen 7 CPU. CPU is what needs the biggest increase, not GPU. Followed by RAM which im hoping for at least 16GB. Sony does all of this and hopefully adds in a 1TB SSD for $500 in September 2020 and I'll be one very happy camper.

Naturally, we need to take this with a grain of salt but SemiAccurate, who correctly predicted Nintendo's Nvidia partnership for the Switch, the PS4 specs back in 2012, and the current gen consoles would be upgraded, released some PS5 info a few months back which talks to those rumors. The article is behind a paywall but many tech sites reported what was seen.

The PlayStation 5 should feature an APU composed of an 8-core Zen CPU and a Navi-based GPU – both customized, as usual, with consoles. We don’t know much about Navi yet, but AMD has previously linked its name to “Scalability” and “Nextgen Memory”. The latter could refer to GDDR6 memory, which both Samsung and SK Hynix have recently made available.

The article also claims that the hardware will be engineered with VR optimization in mind, thus suggesting that Sony will keep banging the PlayStation VR drum.

Why did Sony stop making the PRO....No stores have them and Amazon has not had it in months

Gamestop told me that Sony is no longer producing them and are selling the regular ps4

The Spider man bundle is a PRo so what is Sony doing? Why are they not making PRO versions and pushing that console

They haven't stopped making them but they have decreased production of them. Don't forget, they've already announced that the PS4 is at the end of its lifecycle paving the way towards the next generation of consoles. From what I'm hearing as soon as some are available -- just as fast, they're moving out the door. Spidey, GoT, LoU2, DS, and VR (as well as 4k TV) are believed to be what's driving it at the moment.

Yeah, I remember reading that a while back because it seems like Sony may have an exclusive deal with AMD for PlayStation 5. I'm just hoping that they don't over do the GPU and sacrifice the CPU. Even on PS4 Pro, there are some games that can hit Native 4K and more so on the 6TF Xbox One X so I figure that if the GPU is 8TF, it should easily hit Native 4K but the CPU is more important for frame rates and AI.

Either way, im definitely excited and looking forward to 2020. Expecting some leaks though next Spring after GDC.

Do you want the number to gamestop? Why would I make that up?

My cousin is looking for one and nobody has it. Zero chance this has to do with stores not able to stop the huge demand for the PRO...

It is one thing to stop productiong due to sony saying is nearing the end of the cycle but that can be 2 or 3 years out and even so that does not mean they will stop making the console or should.

Amazon has not had a pro for months. Neither has best buy so why?

I damm near go to best buy every other day and know the guys there and they say they are not getting stock.

Im guessing the Pro just doesn’t sell that well with the higher price point. I would have thought they would have sold a Pro Slim by now. 99% of the people probably pick the slim so that is the focus. You can almost buy two for one Pro. I’d still like to see one in action. Have always been tempted but the cost to upgrade just seems too high.

Hard for me to believe they’re discontinuing the Pro completely. Maybe a redesign is coming and they’re trying to get rid of existing stock?

If the PS5 is still a couple of years away, maybe an upgraded Pro to better compete technically with the Xbox-X?

No chance they are improving the PRo for this gen. But it cannot be discontinued as the spider man bundle is coming.

And you do not discontinue or stop making the console before a slim or whatever comes out. You phase out the pro after the new redesign hits the market

I don't believe this is a matter of Sony being unsatisfied with sales. Everyone and their dog knows they mainly get money from video games, accessories, PS+, etc... and hardly get profit from the systems.

I am curious as to if they are planning on banging out a different type of model though, because I do have to think 2020-2021 is the PS5 timeline.

My guess?..........Both consoles are manufactured in China. Those following economic news recently will note what's been going on in regards to price tariff hikes. Both Microsoft and Sony maybe easing more production than we realized.

I did hear about GG and them getting a new building and them upping the amount of people thing. I dont know how many people they had before compared to the new 400 number. Yeah that could be true its just I dont like FPS they are all the same and so I would rather get Horizon 2 before another killzone and I would think like 3 and a half years or so could be enough time for them to make a Horizon 2. When it comes to Insomniac I love ratchet and clank and I cant wait for spiderman been so long sinces there was a good spiderman game and I love spiderman and yes I know they could work on a few games. I remember hearing just in the last few months how the team that made ratchet and clank ps4 was pretty small and that explains how they where able to start working on spiderman like a year and a half before ratchet and clank even came out. So having a new ratchet and clank and a spiderman 2 game would be great but I would rather have spiderman 2 first because I would rather get more good spiderman games and have ratchet get a break than having to wait longer for another good spiderman game.

While I dont know specs that much but I would think we are going to see less of a jump with ps5 just because of the fact that we got a mid gen upgrade with ps4 so less time between new systems and the fact that xbox one x is even bigger of a upgrade than ps4 pro that it is almost like a next gen type of upgrade.
