I messed up, Pre-Ordered MK11 on PS4 last night but changed my mind and wanted to get for Xbox, well they say there is a no cancellation on the game unless it comes out later than it's supposed to and I can't get a refund on it even though the games not out yet. I was fine with not getting actual money and it being place on my PS4 Wallet....I missed it but what the hell?

Totally different policy from Xbox on Pre-orders

I don't get Sony. They are wildly inconsistent with their refund policy.

They definitely refunded a game for me back in November to my PS Wallet so I know that they can do it.

Yeah I figured they could do it, but said some BS about laws, it says no cancelation in the notes. Yadda Yadda.

I talked to PayPal and I could get the money back and told Sony this and they said I'd I do that my account will show neg money for the game and my account would be banned. Close to telling them **** the account and your ban.

I don't play PS4 much and online even less. You can move the money to my wallet where you will get the money back on another game or I can cancel to payment you ban my account and get nothing. **** it

Yea Sony can be a little suspect sometimes with refunds. My 2 year old turned on the ps4 controller and somehow managed to buy battlefront 2 which is a game I don’t play. I called Sony as soon as it happened and they refused to refund me the money. Not a big deal since I should’ve had a lock on my purchases but they could be a bit more flexible on these things.

Sony having a live video showcase this coming Monday at 5PM EST called State of Play. Not expecting anything major personally. Just some updates and maybe a few release dates for MediEvil, Concrete Genie and PSVR games.

Yeah, they're going the Nintendo/MS route with regular updates outside of conferences.

Unrelated, Sony has informed Gamestop that they will no longer be issuing digital game codes for them to sell, or to any other retailers as of 4/1. With no gifting option in PSN this was the only way to give someone a digital game, so the outrage on social media has commenced.

You'll only be able to buy digital games from Sony. Maybe that gifting gap will be filled by Sony soon?

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

This is straight garbage. I am a huge fan of Sony’s games but hate things like this.

Never understood why anyone would go to a store to buy a digital game download code instead of just purchasing the game straight through PSN (or Xbox Live/Nintendo E-Shop for that matter). Gifting would be the only reason but even then, why not just give the person a PSN currency card instead especially when buying a digital code online, there's no refunds anyway and im guessing that Sony has metrics that show few people actually buy digital game downloads via stores.

Eliminating PSN currency cards would be a far bigger deal but game downloads, nah. I'm guessing it's under 5% which just isn't worth the time to even print up the codes. LOL.

Also, digital game downloads rarely if ever go on sale. They're always $60. Even two year old games are still $60. Why would anyone do this is beyond me? I don't see a single positive in having full game downloads being purchasable in stores.

If I want to buy a game digitally, I go straight to PSN especially if there's a sale. But to go to a store or buy online and wait for a code, nah. Just a waste of my time.

^ This. Any validated reasons are welcomed though, because I don't know any off the top of my head. It just seems like Sony was taking losses including a middle-man in those instances (though I don't know how PSN cards work in that regard either).

I didn't even know you could purchase games digitally in a retail store. I always assumed those were just done through PSN.

Don't the brick and mortar perks apply to these purchases too? GCU, GameStop rewards, etc. So now people who have preferred to go digital can no longer participate in these programs, and anecdotally this is a growing a lucrative segment of the gaming market, and with this move retailers are going to lose out on that customer's money.

This is why I think analysts in particular are really frowning on this move.

Are you going to show up at a midnight opening to buy a PSN card? Are you going to get a pre-order bonus exclusive to a store for PSN card?
