LOL..That is true. Time will be a major issue for me but I hope my son will help keep the dust off some of those games. He is big on shooters while im big on sports gaming. Although, ive been getting more into shooters of late and feel that it will be balanced for me next gen.

Sony making sure this time around their OS is not garbage. The slow, occasional freezing xmb should be forgotten memories real soon.

Sony's statement:

We would like to clear up a misunderstanding regarding our "direct" and "flexible" memory systems. The article states that "flexible" memory is borrowed from the OS, and must be returned when requested - that's not actually the case.

The actual true distinction is that:

"Direct Memory" is memory allocated under the traditional video game model, so the game controls all aspects of its allocation

"Flexible Memory" is memory managed by the PS4 OS on the game's behalf, and allows games to use some very nice FreeBSD virtual memory functionality. However this memory is 100 per cent the game's memory, and is never used by the OS, and as it is the game's memory it should be easy for every developer to use it.

We have no comment to make on the amount of memory reserved by the system or what it is used for.

I'm hoping these PS4 launch day consoles are in some type of demand come release day because I just picked up a second PS4 today from GameStop. I was kinda shocked when they told me that they got an OK again to go ahead and sell pre-orders on launch day PS4's.


Asked him about XBone as well and he said they weren't taking any for launch day XB1's.


I repeatedly asked the store manager if he is sure it's a launch console and I'd be guaranteed the unit on launch he said yes so I plunked down $100 on it as I was buying NCAA Football 14 for the XBOX 360.


So as of right now I'm looking at 4 consoles total on launch day, the 2 XBones I'm keeping (me and my son) but I'm for sure going to try and sell this second PS4.

Getting this baby on launch day with BF4 and 2k14. I rarely get more than a single game at a time, but this is an exception. Probably wont buy another one till Infamous in the spring.

According to more rumors, the rumor that the PS4 has only 4.5GB of available RAM is false:

Brian Provinciano, head of confirmed PlayStation 4 developer Vblank Entertainment, has called the Digital Foundry rumors “absolutely false.”

“It’s absolutely false,” he said in response to the rumors. “Absolutely ridiculous.”

Provinciano went up with an editorial on the drama, in which he provides insight. He wouldn’t confirm how much memory is used, however.

Meanwhile, over on NeoGAF, known insider Thuway said PlayStation 4 will reserve six gigabytes of RAM for games and two for the operating system. BruceLeeRoy, another known insider, and forum admin Kagari corroborated Thuway’s report.

I want to preorder on Amazon but want to make sure I'll get it day one. The "launch edition" is out of stock and has no release date, while the other launch bundles have a December 31st release date. If I grab a bundle with a game, will it come out earlier if the release date is moved up?

Also, if I pay if off but decide later to cancel my preorder, will Amazon recredit my credit card of will I end up with 400 dollars in amazon bucks?

Amazon won't charge you till it's set to be shipped to you. So if you want to pay it off, you'll need to purchase gift cards.

If you cancel, those gift cards return to your amazon account. Yeah, you'll have $400 in amazon money.

Took advantage of the 50% extra trade in promo at Gamestop and paid off my PS4 and controller earlier. Now just need to decide on a game or 2 to go with it.
