Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Paying to access subscription based services is asinine. Paying for online multiplayer access is asinine. Paying for basic online functionality is asinine. No matter what else is included, I won't pay out of principle if those are included. I'll go mainly PC if that's the case (probably still have a PS4 at some point because I like Sony's exclusives).
However, I don't think that's what this will be. IMO it will be tied to Gaikai and expanded cloud based services (like the share button stuff talked about before). I guess we'll find out eventually, maybe in 7 hours but I feel like today won't go into that much detail.
We will see, but imo its more likely than not that they will charge to play online. Microsoft has done it and xbox live is huge so it doesn't really make sense for Sony to keep it free.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Considering one of the big perks of the PS3 was always touted as free online play, and all the great press Sony has gotten saying how Plus is better than Live and how good the Plus membership numbers have gotten, Sony would be foolish to throw all that away. You don't spit in the face of good press, you build on it.Comment

I can't say I'm surprised that they MIGHT(or do) move to paid subscriptions.
I hope not as I love PS+ and they've got my money regardless in that sense.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Ima say this. With the success of live, it almost makes sense for Sony to charge....
If it includes better service and more features . Just saying from a business point .#1 Laker fan

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I agree, even though I would prefer not to have to pay a yearly subscription for online, Sony would really be leaving tons of money on the table in revenues if they didnt start charging.Comment

You can watch the reveal here as well: http://www.psu.com/a018338/Watch-the...ng-LIVE-on-PSU
I'll be eating lunch during the reveal, so it will be a nice break from work. I love living in Hawaii where everything happens in the middle of my day.Comment
