I am honestly compelled to ask... why would anyone be rooting "against" any system?

I want choices. Quality choices. I wish failure on neither M'Soft or Sony. As a consumer, that doesn't help me out at all.

I am actually a little disappointed by the recent Xbox news. I was really on board to get both systems on launch day. Now, it's a little tough to say that I'm going to pass on the other. I was looking forward to Ryse and Titanfall, but if the system isn't completely functional, then there's a problem.

Maybe MSFT will fix their issues, which I hope happens because I have both systems paid off completely. If they don't, I might have to wait it out and see what happens.

I think for some people it's like sports. Let's say one is the Yankees and the other is the Red Sox. No matter what they are going to root against their rival. It's the nature of sports fans. As for some people I think they are just informing others of possible issues. Information is always good. Especially if you are spending 400/500 dollars on a system. I don't think many on here are rooting against either console, but it does look like it. I know it looks like I do most times. I am getting both though. They both have their positives to buying them.

This is what I expect for any possible launch issues. People logging in for the update, using the streaming, and more. I fully expect server issues for both launches. If those are the only problems we see, then I will be relieved.

If it's any bonus, at least the streaming should have absolutely nothing to do with Sony/MS network if properly set up.

Alot of the hate being spewed, people are doing it because its the cool thing to do. I wanna own both consoles and I want both to offer great, unique experiences.

Some people do it out of hate. But I'm sure most of the people here on OS do it to keep people up to date and informed. "Hating" or informing people can be quite a thin line. It's all about perspective and how it is said and displayed.

Yea I dont notice as much hate on OS. But oh boy go visit some other gaming sites, gets a bit ridiculous.

The only time I actively rooted against the XBone was when they had their mandatory Kinect and draconic DRM policies (imagine if those were still in play and this network news came out? They've been having the issues since before then.)

Now I want them both to succeed in a big way, it just seems that MS can't get out of their own way with the way this entire next gen has been handled.

I am getting a PS4 at midnight and I think downloading that initial update is gonna take a mighty long time.

BTW, I wanna thank everyone for all the good info here. Really helps someone like me who has limited time to surf.

Just finished playing some Call of Duty games with the new PS4 controller. This new controller is LEGIT.

Feels much better in the hands, thumbsticks feel AMAZING, triggers felt AMAZING. Cannot wait until the PS4 launches. I'm going to be in video game heaven.

Twitch's issues during major events (like the LoL and DOTA tournaments) is one thing, but I think the flood of new streamers (who lacked the equipment to stream in the past) and the server strain associated with it is going to be unprecedented.

I could definitely see this arrangement having a very rough launch.
