So you can load Firmware onto a thumbdrive and upgrade via USB Thumb drive but External HDs aren't supported?

I'm thinking this is something that gets added to Firmware later.

Wow, shocked Sony would do this to the customers. No DLNA support, No MP3 files, and won't even support your own audio CD's??? Ok guys we need to let Sony know how much we want this added onto the PS4, this is step backwards to me from having all of this on the PS3. Is Sony crazy. We need to email them or message them and let them know that the fans want this added in a firmware update. Just like how Microsoft changed some things on the Xbox one after fan outrage, we need to do the same thing about these missing features on the PS4, its the only way Sony will change this. We can start by boycotting The Sony Music Service since there basically trying to force the consumer to buy product off of this. This can be fixed, but we the fans have to let our voice be heard. Does Sony have a direct twitter feed or email where we can message or displease about this?

Actually you can't watch Blurays unless you download the Day 1 patch.

Here's the full list of launch titles for those like me who haven't been paying attention and thought only a handful of titles were coming.

Sony: Flower, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, Resogun, Sound Shapes

Third-Party: Angry Birds Star Wars, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, Just Dance 2014, Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2k14

Indies: Contrast, Pinball Arcade, Super Motherload, Tiny Brains, Warframe1

Everything else—including previously-scheduled launch games like Watch Dogs and DriveClub—is coming post-launch.

Note: as Sony's Adam Boyes points out, this is a "living list" that could change over the next couple of weeks.

Lego Marvel just may end up being the third title I go with for the Target deal. Complete forgot that was coming at launch.

I thought so too but last news I read on it was October 8th and it didn't seem then like they were ready to commit to the solid launch date.

I think so as well. I would like to be able to continue using option files on PES next year, so this is needed for me. The .mp3 thing is a bummer too, but I'm still all in on the PS4.

I don't play MP3's from my PS3 or stream media so I couldn't really care less but I'm sure many others do use these features and it does stink for them. I can't imagine they won't be added back in.

I'm still 100% all in as well. I have too much invested in the Playstation Ecosystem to cancel my preorder and just go the other way.

I'm guessing these issues will be ironed out in the first 6 months. Already an outcry on the PS BLog in the comments about these choices. Maybe gamer's voices will make Sony change like they did with MS.

All I can say about that is, it's a good thing I enjoy The Show for more than the imported music ability.

But that's a real downer.

Kind of sad I can't play PS1 games on the new system, but I'm keeping my PS3 anyway so no big deal. The failure to include .mp3 support is just mind boggling. Yeah they want to force people to use their proprietary music service and this is probably the only way, but a lot of games allow for custom sound integration. How will they manage that if .mp3 playback isn't an option? Or can you still load audio files onto the system just not play them? I don't understand.

I am STUNNED at the lack of support for DLNA and MP3. What in the **** is that all about?

There's no going back to playing sports games without authentic arena/stadium sounds. I have put countless hours into it for The Show, NBA 2K and NCAA and it is an enormous boost to the atmosphere and realism.
