 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

lol well said Dook and yes, BUT lets not get it twisted. That "toy" always wins out over any console or game

Now with that said, the honeymoon is going to be the recharge for me to get ready when I get back to the states. Then its 4 full days of PS4, Battlefield 4, NBA2k14, and Assassins Creed Black flag!!!

This works out almost perfect, I give her the wedding she always wanted, go on a romantic honeymoon, stay on the beach drinking and enjoying life, then come home and get to game my heart out for days and days with no fear of her wanting to "spend time together"! I just married you and took you away for 10 day vacation in nice hotel on the beach in mexico. Now is my time to get to know the "mistress" in our relationship!!Comment

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Didnt want to create a seperate thread for this since it is PS4 related, but has anyone's gamestop called them up regarding their ps4 preorder and their plans for launch day/week? Received a couple of calls for my PS4 game preorders but not for the console. Im hoping to hear something soon. If not, Ill just ask on Tuesday when I pick up my other PS4 games.

Ive never done a midnight launch at Gamestop before and am curious as to how they normally handle midnight launches. I may in fact go to the PS4 midnight launch next week to experience what it is like, but will not be able to fire up the ps4 until the next day since i will need to get the kids ready for school on Friday and want to be refreshed when I set up the PS4.PSN: ckarlic

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

LOL. I used to think exactly the same way. Men are logical and your explanation there seems very logical and reasonable. Your wife will not think the same thing. You will not "bank" any marriage points for a 10 day honeymoon. Don't get me wrong, you should. But most women don't work that way and they definitely don't think logically or reasonably and it gets worse once you get married. I hope you get to play 4 days of video games with no complaints from the wife. If you do, ask her if she has a sister.

Well I can't speak for all Gamestop locations, but mine is pretty basicDidnt want to create a seperate thread for this since it is PS4 related, but has anyone's gamestop called them up regarding their ps4 preorder and their plans for launch day/week? -They close the doors at 9pm and reopen at 10pm.

-They are allowing early checkout starting at 6pm, but can be done anytime up to launch.

-At 12:00am they will start handing out the systems and games, which will hopefully go much quicker with everyone participating in the early checkout system(Aaron is correct in saying these can be long and tedious at times)

 I wouldn't imagine that your GS would be much different, if at all.Last edited by bluengold34_OS; 11-06-2013, 11:16 AM.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

You will get a phone call or email either Tuesday or Wednesday. IMO, if you arent going to play the ps4 until the next day...dont go to the midnight release. GS will hold your preorder for 24 hours so you can go when it opens tomorrow.Didnt want to create a seperate thread for this since it is PS4 related, but has anyone's gamestop called them up regarding their ps4 preorder and their plans for launch day/week? Midnight releases are long and annoying especially if with console releases. The checking out process takes forever too so its likely you wont get out of GS until 1-1:30 am.Comment

I'm getting jacked up about the thought of going in Tuesday morning to Target and picking up 3 games. Christmas is coming soon, boys.

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I was using that as an example. I've held 2nd day and even ground packages that took 5 days to get to me from across country. I was able to go to the UPS holding facility and pick up the package on its actual delivery day at 10 am sharp. Beats waiting all day staring out the window like an anxious, impatient kid on Christmas eve.

I don't know what I'm actually going to do because I'm working next Friday and it makes no sense to torture myself picking up a package I can't play until 5 at night or won't be in the area to pick up until 5 pm anyway. Thinking about just having someone stay at the house and wait for it.Comment

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Realistically, if I ask them to hold it and it in fact does get put on a truck, they would still deliver it right? Like, I would only be out the time and gas money if they didn't hold it for some reason?I hold packages at the facility down near my house all the time. Next day air is available next day (Say I order on a Wednesday, I can get it on Thursday) at the terminal when it opens for pickups at 10 am.

Have had very few problems doing it, they have accidentally put it on a truck for delivery a few time, but usually they let me go meet the driver somewhere near the facility.

Hold for pick up does in fact work.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

How do you do that exactly? I've had it held for me at the facility plenty of times, however I need to let them attempt delivery first because I cannot have them hold it based on a tracking id, i need an invoice id which is on the slip left at the door if they attempt delivery when i'm not home. I can call/go online and request they hold it, and it will be at the center around 6pm that evening when the driver gets back and they hold it for 5 days.I was using that as an example. I've held 2nd day and even ground packages that took 5 days to get to me from across country. But then again that is only for items requiring signature, other items they just leave on my porch.Comment

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Yeah, I'm torn. I won't be home until 7PM on Friday. The parents are away on vacation.

I was thining of leaving the front door unlocked (leads nowhere as you need another key after that) with a note at the front door and a $5 tip as well.

I'm not sure if it needs signature though.Comment

 Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

If you leave a note telling them where to put it and then sign it they should leave it there no problems. That's what I had to do on my UPS packages at my old apartment.
