I would have liked to hear about the price as well but I don't think it's realistic for them to commit to a price given that there is a competitor out there waiting for their unveil and, more importantly, we're still around 9 months away from seeing it in stores. If I were Sony I wouldn't commit to a price this early either.

      Definitely.
No way they were revealing the price this early....especially with MS right behind them.

As for not seeing it....would have been nice, but what difference really?

So far I'm about 60/40 on the game content shown......but really only one is a must for me anyway.

I don't know why it took me reading this to get it, but that makes perfect sense.

I didn't consider the possibility of being able to turn on the system remotely. That would be amazing and would definitely get me into buying a Vita as well.

They really need to hire a new PR and marketing team. This was a waste of time. Did they miss the memo that D3 is probably the biggest let down title of the past decade? Did they really think having someone come out and announce Final Fantasy as a title would get people excited after the last 2 or 3 diasters they have released? What a way to end the program as well, nothing but boring talk and a cut scene or two of Bungie / D3.

I dont personally like Nintendo at all, but all be darned if Reggie couldnt walk out on stage and get you fired up for whatever it was he was talking about. All of these people that walked out on stage did not convey even a slight amount excitement about any of their products.

Not saying PS4 is / will be a bust, but my goodness they need to get another team out there that are actually excited about their own product.

That's the only thing that worries me about XBox.

But even that I guess I'll eventually get over. The old type controllers will still be usable (the newer version of course)

                  Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

The hardware of the PS4 is interesting. Both AMD CPU and GPU. We don't know what MS will run on the new Xbox, but Intel is considerably more expensive, and Nvidia are still more or less 2nd to AMD. I doubt that Microsoft are going to want to run the same brand as their rivals on their new console.

Having Bungie on board is pretty big as well, Destiny is more or less the Halo for PlayStation by the looks of it. Plus it's exclusive, that alone hurts Microsoft. Partnering with Blizzard is pretty cool too.

So far Sony are ticking the right boxes. Microsoft have been quiet on their front in terms of announcements, I understand development is crucial, but sales are too. If Sony get this out before MS are ready.. Ouch.

MS hardware is (expected/rumored to be) very similar, just different configuration of the internals.

My issue isn't using Kinect as a controller or for added features(like in Mass Effect 3 and other games), it's more of Microsoft's last couple E3's, where everything is geared towards multimedia and Wii like games.

Titles like Watch Dogs make you want to go out and buy the system, not Fruit Ninja.

Watch Dogs demo was running on a PC with specs similar to a PS4 FWIW.

Good info on the GTTV post mortem, mentioned it's probably the first PS platform announcement without GT, EA also.

                          True.

I hear you on the watered down gaming.

But MS has some quality titles too.

EA will be front and center at the Xbox unveiling. Assured. Madden and FIFA. Wouldn't be surprised to see Battlefield 4 too.

A lot of disappointment about no sports games.

But remember when this current gen was released. We got some of the worst sports titles ever released. NBA Live 2007 anyone?

I don't think you'll see any good sports games (except The Show) until the summer cycle 2014.
