Well I talk to a specialist after that guy and he basically knew there was no way of fixing it other than sending it in. It's the faulty HDMI issue... Just sucks cause Amazon screwed up and didn't get it until today and now this.

Ya that's weird. When did you call? He just said that with the holidays and the amount of problems people are having they need to get systems shipped out as quickly as possible. It all hit me by surprise.

I just got off the phone maybe 10 minutes ago if that. He pretty much rushed me off the phone and said overnight a box and send it back and they will fix it and I'll get it in a week.

Not trying to be insulting, but for those with video issues, are you absolutely sure your TV supports 1080p?

The reason I ask: My buddy was having video problems with his. With his setup, he's got a projector. In the back of the room he has an entertainment cabinet. He had to have cabling installed to run through the walls and ceiling to the projector.

Anyway, his PS3 worked fine. Using the same cabling, his PS4 wouldn't display video. We finally figured out that the cabling is defective and won't display 1080p. Once he deselected 1080p, he got video (in 1080i) fine on the PS4.

That may not help at all, but just throwing it out there in case it does help somebody.

Well for me I know 100% that isn't the issue. I have a working PS4 on this TV and I tried the broken one on this same TV and same HDMI cable in same port. No video at all. But plugged my PS4 back in and it works just fine.

Did anybody figure out how to get audio to stream when doing streaming or does system audio only get captured for shared video posted to Facebook?

Audio works for some games and doesn't for others. Like I know NBA the audio isn't working for streaming. Madden, Killzone, and Call of Duty are though.

Buddy, it sounds like you're having the same issue my brother had. It isn't a faulty HDMI, it's a bricked console. IF you can't get safe mode to pop up, they're just going to tell you to send the console back to Sony. We tried every single possible fix and nothing worked.

For those of u having issues with ur Amazon ps4 I updated my ps4 via the network & it's working like a charm..

Either I got lucky & got a good system or u guys must be doing something wrong cuz everything good on my end so far!!!

Don't Jinx yourself! Mine's been fine.. came from Amazon.. I did a true wired connection to my router and did the 1.5 update through there. IF my machine eventually bricks, I hope and pray it's not until the systems are in plentiful stock.

Yeah specialist got the phone and said it needed to be fixed. So it's a hardware issue. I'm doubting that .04% is accurate. Number seems at least a little higher.

Yeah, it seems like that number is higher just going from the OS community. Heck, it sounds like you both have the same issue. I asked because I do suspect some of the failure to update issues are user derived.

Your issue definitely sounds like a true brick issue. Did you get your personal console from Amazon too?

I only get notifications for trophies and friend requests. It would be nice to see if a friend starts playing the same game or gets online.

Definitely need that... along with the option to filter events notifications lol.

Same. I thought I could be smart and wait it out on current gen a little longer.

That was a dumb idea. I am jumping on the first ps4 I see.

If you get your hands on one that works, you will LOVE IT. Even with all the major pubs bashing it a little for having a not so epic launch title line up NBA2k14 ALONE is worth the system purchase..and that goes for either next gen system. AC4 looks way better than the current gen when you fire it up on your TV. Watching compresed HD video of the comparisons don't do it justice or show just how much better AC4 looks on next gen. Even Madden looks, feels and plays way better than current gen and there are so many little details I notice in game and cutaways and longer more logical replays that make me not regret giving EA 120.00 for a football game (I own the current gen Madden as well). I still havent opened up Killzone because NBA2k has been in my machine about 95% of the time since I got it.

Get one by any means you can... well I don't condone robbing someone lol. But if the UPS man drops one off at your house that's meant for your neighbor.... possession IS 9/10 of the law

I'm hardwired too. I wonder if updating over wifi in the beginning could be an issue. I doubt it, just wondering if for whatever reason if something wonky happens with your wireless connection while it's updating could be a problem.

My PS4 works (thank God), but there is definitely something weird with the HDMI connection.

When I first turned on the system, I got no video signal at all. After hyperventilating for a minute, I tried another HDMI cable and it worked.

Later, I tried the original HDMI cable, and it worked... but when I pushed the system back and the cable slightly touched against the back of the entertainment center, the picture vanished, and it wouldn't come back until I switched HDMI cables again.

I fully expect to have to send my PS4 to Sony for some TLC at some point, but hopefully I can get my fill before it inevitably happens.

So sounds like Amazon got a bunch of bricked consoles which we of course ended up with... Very unfortunate.
