      Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Every system/game is going to try to cater to each type of gamer. Online and offline gamer's will always be able to play whichever mode they prefer. I do agree offline gamer's have been ignored in certain titles. Anyways, I'm ready for the 20th. If they announce anything impressive, my 360 may be on the way out of my house. I am fine with playing the new God of War, Last of Us, and MLB the Show until the PS4, if it's this year.

I really hope Sony doesn't butcher this. I really want to be on a Sony system, but it wouldn't surprise me either way.

I can't lie I loved the Vevo app on 360.

I just want to buy one console this time. And yes the media aspect appeals to me . But dammit I want hardcore gaming lol

Im really excited to hear about the future of Playstation. Next gen I will stick to one console and it will be the Playstation as I find my self playing more exclusives on the PS3 than on the 360. Also, the Show makes it a no brainer for me Can't wait to hear the big announcement on Feb. 20th

They're not mutually exclusive. Some games can have both an online component and a deep story, but hardly any of them do (obviously Uncharted instantly comes to mind).

Speaking of which, what are Naughty Dog's plans going into PS4? They went with a "staple" of a game each generation, from Crash to Jak to Uncharted (finishing off with The Last of Us this year). I simply can't wait what they'll do for us this next generation! Well... technically I can wait since I will be waiting haha, but I can't imagine they'll be rolling out anything within the first year of the console's release anyway.

I just hope when it comes out (that is when I buy one a year or so after release) that I can transition cleanly over to the new system. Netflix, Amazon, trophies, friends, etc... I don't want to have to start all over. Our house is so hardwired to our PS3's that I'd like an easy transition.

Well, we know they are working on an Uncharted 4 (IIRC, around when we found out they were doing The Last of Us, they said they had split into two dev teams, one working on Uncharted and the other working on TLoU). Since TLoU we know is a PS3 game, and since Naughty Dog is home to ICE group, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say Uncharted 4 will be a PS4 game, possibly even a launch game which would be awesome.

I LOVE Uncharted, but I wish they would move on to another series and let Uncharted live out a happy retirement as one of the best series I've ever played.

Although, it will be awesome to see what the new hardware can allow the Uncharted world to look like. Probably jaw-dropping.

                      VG247: PS4 controller

A VG247 source said today that PS4′s rumoured controller touch-pad is real. The input is on the front of the handset. The Start and Select buttons have been moved as a result.

The controller is “more or less” the same shape as the current DualShock. We’ve been told today that the L2 and R2 buttons have been remodelled for the better.

The existence of the touch-pad has been previously reported by Edge, but claims a “Share” button exists on the controller from the same report were debunked by our source today. Apparently it isn’t there.

I hope the ps4 catches up to Xbox in terms of media capabilities .

Streaming to a ps3 vs 360 using my iphone is night and Day. Ps3 far behind.

I prefer gaming on ps3 though

Would be cool if they still allowed you to use a normal DualShock with the PS4, I can imagine some people might not like the concept of a touchpad controller.

What a run the DualShock had though.. I can remember when I bought one my PS1, the vibration feature seemed completly revolutionary!

Yeah I remember when I first got mine. I invited a couple people over to check it out. We played Gran Turismo and I remember at shaking slightly on dips and turns and then when you want off road it an "oh man!" moment cause it shook like crazy.

Ive seen a few people talking about trading in their PS3's for next gen but I am leaning towards trading in my Xbox 360 to get some credit to trade in towards the purchase of the next Playstation. Not really sure yet if I will do that since I do play some games on the 360 but not as much as i play games on my PS3. I still see some great exclusives coming out for the PS3 (ie. God of War, The Show, Last of Us). The Show alone prevents me from trading in my PS3.

Most likely I will go this route to help cut the cost of the next gen system since I have decided to just get one system next time and that will be the next playstation. By trading in my 360 and the games I have for it, I may be able to get a good chunk of change to pay for most of the next Playstation.

I would trade my 360 in if I knew the release date of the next systems and my daughter didn't just get Kinect for Christmas.
