Lol why? I'm serious. Just tired of M$ and excited to pick up something new. Is that so unbelievable?

EA proving yet again why they have lost (well... still haven't found) their damned mind.

Yup, EA. Have your CTO throw lies out there to the public. That always works.

It's from nVidia so that's why the GeForce brand is the only one listed there.

It is about the bus architecture and how that power gets through it.

Damn shame how these companies get away with telling blatant LIES!! This is why I am skeptical about the Ignite Engine, it's all just over HYPE aka LIES! And they wonder why the were voted the worst company in America, it's because of things like this, over hype, under delivering.

there's nothing new with EA, always promising and leaving you empty handed after you bought their product.....LIE, LIE, LIE again. EA is all flash and whistles, no substance. This time around, Im really staying away from NHL until they improve the product. I just hope there's another company that will give us NHL and NFL.

One order of magnitude is 10x. So by EAs accounts, this new generation of systems is orders of magnitudes better. They are saying that the XBone/PS4 are 100/1000/100000 (extrapolate further if you wish) than the current gen of consoles. I don't think so, at all.

If you take him at his word (that the new generation is 8-10x better on graphic/audio benchmarks) that is (at maximum) one magnitude better.

Also, the face that he says their architecture is ahead of high end PCs. Acting as if SOC is something brand new and saying it will take time for PCs to catch up. SOCs have their uses, but it will never outperform high end SIPs.

In the end, it just boils down to hype. The same thing why nVidia has said they turned down the XBone/PS4 a couple weeks ago, saying that it didn't want to do business at the price Sony was willing to pay them.

AMD (obviously) got both consoles, and now Neal Robison, director of ISV relations at AMD, told TechRadar that AMD was able to provide an integrated solution through its APU that Nvidia couldn’t, by ‘optimizing information flows, generating greater performance, better power and heat efficiency, and by providing tools and dev relationships‘ to provide the PS4 a strong launch.

He also came out and said that of course nVdia would say it was about the money because they are bitter.

Meanwhile, in the real world AMD is struggling big time as a company (and some were even questioning if they'd be around this time next year - though that was a bit extreme.)

It's just businesses trying to hype their products.

I'll laugh when we are into Next Gen and get "We can't add "insert Item here" due to hardware limitations" from EA..

Hope not but that's always their get out of jail card.

While I'm still not 100% sure which way I'm going as I need E3 to get here. I sort of get what some re saying now.

I know I've said I have a certain loyalty to XBOX as I just had some great memories (And LIVE since day 1).. but
and I could be off base here, but so far from everything I've seen it just feels like XBOX1 is so "busy" whereas the PS4 is "go play a game.."

                        If that makes sense.

I know E3 isn't here yet but I sort of get the whole games vs entertainment center feel now.

That's just semantics, you are applying a definition they didn't infer.

Didn't say that either. It was said that it is a "generation ahead" of current high end PCs, and he's correct. The CPU cores are the next generation of CPU cores, and the GPU, while hazy in terms of what the cores it uses are, that it is using the next-gen APU architecture, I would believe that is using more advanced cores.

It was also never said it would "outperform" high end PCs, and being a "generation ahead" doesn't really imply that.

EA anyway, I get the feeling nVidia is bending the truth so far it's coiled like a spring. I'm sure nVidia did go to MS and Sony wanting to get their GPUs in there, and Microsoft and Sony told them flat out they would have to come way down because they would have to double up paying design and vendor fees, increased manufacturing costs, etc, etc and nVidia balked. They just couldn't match what AMD was doing.

nVidia, while I like their products, always shows benchmarks and tech demos that almost never see the light of day, in said card generation they are showing it on.

And that is due to the limitations in the CPUs and BUS architecture they connect to. It has always been this way in PC gaming.

PC gaming is first for me, always will be, but I can admit this has always been the case. The bus connection on the consoles usually have less bottlenecks due to the on-board set ups, with faster memory swapping that can be accessed in a more direct manner. And OSes that are less resource hungry and gaming focused.

The PC does eventually surpass it (and will be more than likely at these console's launch), but not at the same cost out of the console gate. That nVidia card alone will be more than the new consoles themselves. Only to run essentially the console games, since more often than not they will be programmed with the lowest common denominator in mind.

Free-to-Play Shooter Warframe Coming to PS4

Today, IGN can confirm that Warframe, the “space ninja” co-op game, is coming to PlayStation 4. It will launch alongside Sony’s new hardware, and will follow a similar free-to-play, microtransaction model as the game does on PC.
Sinclair notes that many gamers who play Warframe on PC often refer back to Phantasy Star Online as a similar experience, and even state that it’s like “Mass Effect meets Ninja Gaiden,” what with its emphasis on space and… well… ninjas. “It’s a big, messy space ninja game,” Sinclair said, laughing, one rife with customization and crafting options, and one that doesn’t stress competition as much as it stresses cooperation.
“Sony has been incredibly supportive and available,” Sinclair continued, “and [PlayStation 4], in my opinion, is incredible to develop for. It is awesome, and I don’t want to speak disparagingly about any existing or prior platforms, but we showed Warframe for the first time to our entire studio, and everyone had their jaws on the floor, how 1080p, silky smooth and beautiful it was. So, I’m really, really enjoying working on the machine.”
Sinclair confirmed that DualShock 4’s special functionality – including its mysterious touch pad – will play a big role in Warframe.
“We hope we can make [free-to-play] attractive for the console audience… Instead of dropping 60 bucks on a six hour game, [a person] might drop a few bucks here and there on our game, which gives some of our players 500 hours of entertainment.”

And what sets Warframe apart from its competitor? Its non-competitive, more laid back slant, Sinclair said. “We’re getting a lot of players interested in the game because most of the other people in this space are head-to-head, hardcore competitive, and this is much more of a player-versus-enemy, co-op, more of a Diablo experience, but in third person shooter form.”
