See that is what I am wondering also. I think it won't be much of an issue though compared to getting the console. Console is a lot more expensive to make and takes a lot more time. So the supply is more limited for consoles compared to games.

I wouldn't worry about the games. I'm gonna wait until much closer before I pre order those. I figure with all the retailers out there, at least one will still have it for pre order.

No one has an answer, but I would even pay to change my PSN name. I switched names once when my original account froze. I want to carry over my PS+ and trophies, but I want a different name to match everything else.

I wouldn't worry about the games selling out. But if you want to be on the safe side, go ahead and pre-order.

Free DriveClub and three Indie Games for free off the bat should keep me fairly entertained. I'll be looking for Battlefield 4 too

That's my same problem. I want to get rid of my stupid name I made 3 years ago, but I really don't want to lose my trophies. Plus I'm planning on getting PS+ relatively soon so I obviously don't want to lose that either.

DriveClub seems like a perfect somewhat free launch title, especially considering everyone will be downloading it and we should be able to have some fun with it on OS. Lets just hope they are prepping servers for the flood of people.

For those of us who own one, is this going to render our Hauppuage boxes obsolete? Mine, at least, does not have an HDMI port. My TV does, but the way those things work is that it connects the console to the capture box, and then feeds that to the TV. Without an HDMI port on the box, that's a problem.

I'm very curious as to how much this will be selling for on Ebay come November. The PS3 sold for over $2000, so I imagine the PS4 would sell for at least $1000. I know no one likes the person who buys one with the intent to resell, but I honestly think that if they sold for $2000 on ebay, I would probably sell mine and wait a month or two.

Sounds like it would, unless you have a way to convert stuff (HDMI to component or something).

I have a Hauppauge HD-PVR 2 and it has HDMI, so I'm set. Most people will say not to worry about it because of the new Share button anyway, but there's always a question of the quality and edit options that come with that as well.

If they said 200.00 I'd still do it. The $ going there regardless so whatever it is to reserve makes no difference to me.

I sincerely hope that the period of selling these for crazy prices will only last a month or two at most until retailers get more systems in. As I said before, I plan on waiting until late January or early February, and I hope that by then, systems will be available without a wait period.

Most likely, yes, unless you find a converter box that will strip HDCP and then send it over component. Both have at least short term DVR capabilities, not sure how long they limit the recorded stream, though PS4 will stream to Ustream which saves the video I do believe, which you may be able to download and then edit.

Buy an HDMI to Component Cable. I'd say that would solve that issue.
