    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

The Playstation exclusives have been so good to me in my lifetime dating back to the PS1.

Xbox only had Halo that interested me and since Halo 3, they've been trying to turn that series into a class based shooter, when the fun aspect has always been the arcade vibe. Its no longer a console selling franchise.

I was a little disappointed with the initial Sony game reveal, but the PS3 reveal was not overwhelming either. If they can get some of these developers like Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream on board with the future, which should be easy, we are in for a real treat.

I'm just really excited about the future for Sony. The dedication to indie developers and first party exclusives is really driving that excitement for me.

      Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Streaming PS3 games via cloud (est. 2014), The Order, Dark Sorcerer demo, free games with PS+ year membership, no change in DRM, no online required, no data-mining, no (spy)camera, AND $100 less is what convinced me.

I always felt bummed about missing out on all the great PS3 games and not having that big of a variety on the Xbox. Thankfully that will be rectified by the end of the year.

There are still a few PS3 exclusives left for me to buy too. Beyond: Two Souls is my #1.

I was so in love with Heavy Rain. That development team isn't popular in the main stream gaming world, but damn if they aren't good at what they do, which is telling a great interactive story that keep the gamer involved emotionally.

I may never get rid of my PS3, but I'll likely dump my 360 eventually. I won't feel like dropping the cash for xb live just to use it for Netflix or Hulu+

I keep forgetting I have a VITA too. That's another benefit and pro for me.

Sony has confirmed that you don't have to use your actual identity if you don't want to. You can still use a psn name if you want. It is up to you. I remember reading this back in February when they first announced it.

Just so everyone knows. The Xbox One day one edition is back up on Amazon for preorder, while PS4 is still sold out of launch editions.

There's been too many exclusives or games in general that i've missed on the PS3 because I didn't want to waste my $$ on a game I may not like, beat quickly, or just never heard of. Hoping that starting over with the PS4(and then hopefully a career a year later for $$) will let me try out some new stuff instead of my usual sports games and only a few others.

Heavy Rain was truly one of my favorite gaming moments in the history of my gaming experience. Revolutionary, in my opinion. I can't wait to see what they have in store for the PS4.

Believe so, hoping they incent them well or compete with retail pre-order offers.

I'm just not a big Exclusives guy.

I've played five (MAG, LittleBigPlanet, Heavy Rain, SOCOM: Confrontation and Infamous) and owned seven (MAG, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM: Confrontation, Infamous, Infamous 2, Uncharted and Uncharted 2).

The only reason I've got Uncharted and Uncharted 2 because a guy threw it into a bundle I bought for $60 (Infamous, Infamous 2, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, BioShock, Red Dead Redemption, Battlefield Bad Company, Lego Indiana Jones, Star Wars The Force Unleashed II and Assassin's Creed Revelations).

Heavy Rain was pure joy to play. I have not experienced a gaming high like that since.

So what do you guys think is an acceptable price on digital full-game purchases on the PS4 PSN Store? Same Price? $10 Less? $20 Less?

I think I'd like to see them drop the price down $10. That way neither Sony or the publisher is losing out on much and we're getting a bit of a discount. I think you have to factor in that we'd be buying something that we can't turn around and trade in later. So rather than it being $60 and getting $20 when you're done with it a few months later. It's $50 but you're not getting anything back when your'e done with it.

That hasn't been the case this gen at all. Most games are $59.99 wil drop down for a special promotion then go back up to $59.99. After a few years they will then go back to a lower price. Hell I think NCAA 13, is still $59.99 in the playstation store.

New release games cost me $65 and if there is no extra content, I can sell them for $40.

If there's extra content and I hold onto them, that price is closer to $20-25.

So I guess for me it's $40. I can live with that. I highly doubt it's that price. I would only pay full price for a game like NBA 2K14 or GTA because I know they will either last me a full year or take long enough to complete.

If I'm getting Uncharted 4, I will never pay $60 for a digital copy. I can finish Uncharted 4 in a week. I rather buy it for $65 and turn around to sell it for $45 on Craigslist. People jump on that because they are getting a used game discount. It's always worked for me.

Cheaper would be great but Sony and MS have console gamers used to paying $60 so I doubt they'll ever drop price for digital.

Madden still is. Even NBA2k13 at $42 ($29 w/ PSN+) is hard to justify this time of year after playing a quite a bit on PC, but at least it's dropped a bit.

Many of the games I'd want to buy are nowhere near impulse price.

One thing's clear, if I'm going to keep my PS3 a bit longer than we originally thought it's time to upgrade this HDD from 80GB

I'm willing to pay full price for games I know I'll play a lot of like Madden or NCAA if they're available, depending on retail promotions though it becomes money saved vs convenience of no disc and usage of HDD space.
