I kind of feel you on that - I've owned a 360 controller for a while now for the purpose of playing PC games. I use the PS3 triggers with my middle fingers, but that's a bit of an uncomfortable (or maybe I should say unstable) position on the 360's controller. Fortunately, however, I haven't played many PC games where I needed to react quicker than the time it takes to move my index fingers from the buttons to the triggers.

I'm sure that's what it is... fine motor skills are very adaptable. I also prefer symmetrical controllers, being ambidextrous, my overall FMS are slightly less adaptable.

I won't go too much into it, but I've had lengthy conversations (debates) with a former colleague (ergonomics engineer) about anthropometry and the designing of ergonomically positive devices...lol

You mean pressing L1 to aim down the sights, and R1 to shoot, right?

I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. I guess we're some of the crazy few. It just felt really natural to me when games started doing it. Especially on the PS3 controller where your fingers could always slip off of the L2/R2 buttons. But like I said, I'm sure I'll adjust to the new layout. And if I don't, most games will let you reconfigure your controller to your liking.

I agree with you. I prefer L1 to aim down sight and R1 to shoot. I would not have it any other way, and when playing games since ps1 I have always preferred it that way. I hate when games make u use L2 and R2 to shoot. Only game I did not mind it in was Red Dead Redemption.

That's fine with me. If you want to play games with cool motion features and camera stuff, the XBox One seems to have that covered.

Those of us that don't care for that at all, PS4 suits that need and at a cheaper price.

Same here but I still think it ends up being a wasted feature that had potential.
Not to mention wasted developement time getting the light integrated into the controller.
Either way it doesn't bother me at all.

I couldn't agree more. And the writer's assertion that it will become dead technology because Devs wont utilize it now, is ridiculous to say the least. The Eye and the Move still had their uses regardless of them not being mandatory. Just as the Kinect has made it's advancements on the 360 and X1. If the developers think it would be a good use in their game, they'll find a way to implement it into their game on an optional basis just as they do now.

But I for one, really couldn't care less about having a camera at this point in time. Likely because I want to be lazy half of the time I sit down to play video games.

The only time I'm okay with using the L2 and R2 is primary controls are in racing games. Shooters, it's just too weird. I guess we've been programmed since we were young.

I thought I read somewhere that the L1 and R1 were more responsive than the trigger buttons.

I'm so used to hitting the Z button to shoot on my N64, that there's no way I can get used to using L2 and R2.
