Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Hence the Mac/PC comparison. Vastly different architecture, much more analagous than iOS/iPhone versions. Effort to provide backward compatibility that much more difficult.
I'm glad their architecture decisions didn't have this as a higher priority, abandoning the Cell is the best decision they made this gen, adopting it probably is the worst from last gen. The dividends of both are why you cant just 'download your apps'

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
iOS is built with BC in mind, from architecture to screen resolution. Sony abandoned 'backward compatibility is core to the playstation brand' when they dropped it from the PS3.

I was just making a "joke" and passing time.
I'm glad they dumped the Cell also.
In the end I really don't care about the BC. We never had it before the playstation started it so I am just looking at the BC we did have from ps1 to ps2 etc.. as a plus during that gen.
As I sometimes go back and play old games I don't last that long. Past games are great (well some) but for me they are best left in the past.Last edited by Skyboxer; 09-03-2013, 11:25 PM.Joshua:

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I went from being ecstatic about Watch Dogs to being on the fence and now to scratching it off of my list.
I just won't have the time to dedicate to a game like that. And its appeal lost its luster with me.
Still going with BF4 as a definite.
Killzone as a more than likely.
And the better of NBA 2K/Live.
AC IV may be able to sneak in there and bump out Killzone. Not sure yet.
It's fluid. I'm going all digital downloads so I still have alot of time to decide.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Wow, the online portion of Watch Dogs is amazing. Just dropping into someone's world. I know we heard about it, but I think that's the first time I've seen it in play.
But, isn't everyone playing the same character? In the video, it looked like the other player had a different face. I'm assuming this is just within your game world. In his world, you have an NPC face?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Only thing that annoyed me with that video is the constant rolls after jumping off an object. Need another animation.Comment

I'm even more excited about WD than I was before. I agree that the draw for me is that it looks and sounds like GTA: Hacker EditionComment
