Scratch what I said. It looks like its not in the X1 either.

[B]"So far we mostly have details how the Xbox One handles music. It turns out that it will not be able to play music you own and have stored on a PC or home network, at least not directly and without a fee.

“For now it’s a $10 subscription per month on the console to get access to that,” Porter (left) said, adding that more options may come after the Xbox One is launched.

In other words, if you want to play your music collection through the console’s default music app, you’ll have to subscribe to the premium version of the app, which costs $10 per month or $100 for a yearly subscription.

Then you can upload your music collection to Microsoft’s cloud storage service, and stream it back to the console via the Internet.

That’s in addition to the $60 per year that you must pay for premium Xbox Live Gold membership to use the music app in the first place."

Looks like MS is doing the same thing. This sucks!!!!

So...you can't have a music library of your own? Or if you have the Xbox One you have to pay to be able to stream it? Ha.

I'm pretty sure not being able to play it over your home network would be a hint at no DLNA too, that's hard to believe so we'll see.

This is just ridiculous. But, I'm not too upset, seeing as we have used games and basically zero restrictions on anything else. It could be so much worse. Not that that makes it right.

I kind of figured the "streaming" services would pick up considering the success of Netflix, but I don't like this direction of limiting cross-device use of your own library.

I'm sure they'll have the systems in hand to be shipped on the 15th. I took the day off, so if not it's going to be a really tough day for a manager at Amazon if I have to call them.

That sure sounds like a "no" in the nicest possible way. Especially coming from a company that loves to take jabs via Twitter and whatnot when MS screws up.

The last time I used custom soundtracks was on Xbox for GTA, Forza, and NFL 2k5. I never really played many sports games this past cycle so I never got into that aspect, but I want The Show and NBA 2k just keeps trying to whore itself into my console.

I'm really interested to see if there is a "work around" that games will utilize or if they'll just be forced to scrap the whole feature altogether.
