PlayStation 4 Discussion
I just want to say that amidst all the hoopla and fanfare, these launch game releases have been a giant mess.
At GameStop and most Targets you can buy Killzone, but then Walmart's system shows a hard street date of Nov 15. and they(ones by me) won't sell it.
You could get 2K at GS last Fri, but some people still can't buy it at stores.
I could buy Fifa and Battlefield over the weekend at Best Buy, but Gamestop(again ones around me) wouldn't sell it til the 12th.
Some Walmarts would match Target's add, some wouldn't. Best Buy would match before the email went out, while GameStop wouldn't match at all.
This is only thing about the way things are done now. Can we please go back to how games were handled pre Halo 2 and let stores sell them upon receipt? Granted I was in college but I miss the days of calling KB Toys, EB/GS to see if their shipment of (insert game you wanted here) was in. Now we have stores sitting on games for up to 10 days now, waiting for stupid street dates to arrive.
Ok that's my only negative about this launch so far. Now just midnight tomorrow night needs to hurry up and get here.S.O.S Crew

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
EB Games would not sell me NBA 2K14. I walked across the street to Toys R Us and got it from there. Unfortunately I had to pay the full pop $180 for all three games. No good next gen deals in Canada.
I did manage to pick up AC IV, BF4, and COD Ghosts it free last weekend (thank you Future Shop/Best Buy). With the $10 upgrades it's like getting six games for $210.
One last thing I would like to mention. I noticed some of you had lose shrink wrap on your sealed games. Mine came sealed tight and did not looked cheaply wrapped at all. Remnants of glue and plastic are still on my FIFA case.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Two seperate things
The HDMI thing was IGN UK... Sony sent them 2 units. One had a bad HDMI port that wouldn't let them plug it all the way in
The other was fine.
This guy here on the stream is just doing extras to the point where he's now a troll.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Kotaku also received bad hdmi defects
Here are the facts: In the past week, my Kotaku colleagues and I have used one pre-release PS4 and three retail PS4s with no problems. I've also heard from fellow gaming reporters who've used their PS4s with no problems. But the first retail unit that Sony provided me failed to work when I plugged it into a TV in Kotaku's office. A colleague and I were able to compare it to a second PS4 that did work and we found that the issue was rather simple: the bad unit had a faulty HDMI jack that we couldn't fully plug an HDMI cable into. It couldn't make a solid connection and therefore, apparently, couldn't transmit a stable signal to our TV. We tried different cables and monitors. The issue was with the console.Last edited by yungflo; 11-14-2013, 03:02 AM.#dairyfreeComment
