I used a 1.3 HDMI as well as the one that came with unit.

Uncheck 1080p and it looks worse. Haven't tried another TV yet because I'm not at home.

I did find this though:

This guy has the EXACT same TV and problem I have. Also another random user on twitter found my tweet and said he's having same issue. And he's using a 40" Bravia TV as well. Maybe our TVs aren't compatible?

Whoa, I'm pretty sure that's my tv but it's 46"

I'm so anxious right now. I don't want my ps4 to arrive and just have problems right away

So I got my ps4 this morning and did the update now, but after it installed the screen just stayed black!!! Wtf!!? I don't know if I should turn off the console? I know we're not suppose to turn it off while updating, but it updated and installed and then that's it nothing else is happening..

So some guy living in Kansa posted screenshot of his UPS tracking adventure... poor guy.. then I wondered if foul play was involved and someone that didn't pre order set a booby trap just to hijack it like they did in those old western movies.

Yea. After it downloaded and installed the screen just remained black and I don't want to turn it off so I won't mess anything up. Smh!! Has anyone else had this happen?

This happened last night Art to one of the guys in our party, and he just rebooted and everything was fine. I am not saying this is the answer or for you to do this, but it did work for him -

I work at costco

I called our Costco and they didn't have any.

so weird...best buy can't even tell me over the phone if they have any. says to opt in to their GAMER texts or check online. the whole GAMER thing could work well...fingers crossed. anyone had any luck with best buy?

Hey fellas, did anybody successfully update their PS4 thru the internet is the USB route the only safe way to go?

I am unboxing as I type this and I remember the "preparing to install" error happened all the time on PS3 for system updates if you were downloading it directly to the PS
