So..the whole social aspect of the UI... I thought other people's activity would pop up on my screen; is that only when I go to their page? Or am I not just seeing anything because PSN is down?

Yes, that is due to PSN not being fully functional. When it is up, you will see all friends activities under the 'what's new' column. You will see game specific splash screens and info too, when you scroll over to a game/app.

I took a screenshot of what it should look like when fully functioning. I'll post when I get a chance.

I'm having a hard time figuring a lot of this out lol. I read a few posts back that someone else was having difficulty figuring out if their games have been installed.. 2K and Madden, I could tell were installed. KZ, AC and LEGO I have no idea. I go to the downloads page and they say "Ready to Install" so I click on that, thinking it's going to install - but it just sends me right back into the game. There's definitely a learning curve, for me at least.

They all installed (cached) the game data (what's on the game case, e.g. 38GB), in the background when you first start a game. That's a minute or two process... The other, longer installs are actually title updates (patches), although they are much smaller in size. They are coming from a server, as opposed to your game disc.

It was only on the 15th, deal to make people buy a year as opposed to using the 30 day and wait for black friday.

I see. So, they will be having some deal for psn on black Friday then? I don't have a panel and haven't signed up yet so I'll just use the 30 day trail.

I have another question about warranty. What kind of extended warranty should I get? Square Trade or through Sony. BTW,I bought my PS4 at Walmart.

Great. Now my game won't start. Just boots up LeBron throwing salt in the air and stays there.

Maybe its cuz my internet is down.

The 2K servers are down for PS4 right now.

When it hangs up like that, hold down the PS button and close the app. Then run it again.

PSN is a little buggy as well, these types of things are going to happen the first few days, loads of people trying to play these games on this console online right now.

Pretty disgusted with the fact that I can't play MyGM when the servers are down. No point in forcing an online connection when you can't deliver a stable one.

Anyone happen to have a list of what headsets (if any) are out right now that work with PS4?

It's OK even if they are something cheesy that connects right to the controller.

It instantly reminded me of how the gaming public was pissed about XB1's initial "always online" policy in the beginning.

It kinda is similar right now with the 2K servers lol. (I believe there is a way to play offline without the 2K server required connection but still).

The ISO and Double Team voice command seemed to work pretty consistently (when I was able to play yesterday and earlier today).

As someone else posted, I have been a little confused at times by the install/update process. I thought I had games all caught up and when I coulodn't get online I figured it was a network issue, came to find out that updates had downloaded and were "ready to install," and didn't do automatically, I had to exit the game, go to downloads, and install the update from there, and then as soon as I did that I was able to hop online right away.

I think the UI has a long way to go, honestly, I am not sure it holds a candle to XBL (or whatever their OS is considered). It's an improvement though and I think they will iron it out.

Part of me wants to upgrade the HD but I have a perfectly working launch console right now and I am paranoid about messing things up.

I might be crazy but I am as impressed by FIFA as I am with 2k. I know FIFA the cam is zoomed out more but if you get up close, especially on the replays, hollllyyy cow.

nope not yet sucks

They work with the cord plugged into the controller. You don't get virtual surround, but they are otherwise functional.
