Any good will Sony had with me over the course of the last couple of days is gone.
So, my brother, who bought the console off of Amazon at midnight on Friday, got his console today. He followed all of the instructions, turned the console on, and it won't boot up. We mess around with all of the HDMI ports and everything. Nothing pops up. Meanwhile, there is a flashing blue light on the PS4. We unplug everything, restart the console, and nothing. So I look up some videos, a few people had success taking the HDD out and replacing it, that didn't work either.
Oh well, we have the warranty for the console, right? Well, the problem is, Amazon will take the console back but they won't give him a new one (they are obviously out of stock). Okay, so maybe we can send it to sony and have it fixed. That's not happening either, as apparently Sony will fix them but it will take up to TWO months to get back.
So then we're waiting on both the customer support phone line and the chat room. Every time we are next in line, they boot us from the chat. We've also been on the phone line for two hours now.
It sucks, because I love the console. I played it all of yesterday and early in the morning. But I was really hoping Sony would be on top of their customer service in a way that Microsoft never was for me, and that's not at all happening. I wish anyone else having similar problems good luck.
