Ok. I'm still wrestling which game on the PS4 I should get, NBA 2k or Madden. I want a game that looks good on the PS4 but at the same time I want it to be a game I'll play since it is my only PS4 game for a bit.

I was leaning towards NBA because it is suppose to look so nice and you get the next-gen feel from it. Problem is, I don't follow the NBA. Unless they've been in the league for 10 years or so, I don't know who they are really. But I did get the game a couple years ago and really enjoyed the MyPlayer mode, so that has me on the fence for NBA. But at the same time, because of my lack of enthusiasm for the NBA, I know I won't ever complete even one season of MyPlayer unless I sim a bunch of games.

On the other hand, I am a NFL fan and that makes me want to play Madden. Problem here is that I hear all that negative junk on the game. I think I'd get more play time from Madden if it is a good game, but I want that next-gen experience.

I didn't get either game's current gen version, so both would be new games for me this year. What do you think?

Typically I'd suggest NBA over madden but not this year, especially if you don't really follow the NBA much. If your an NFL fan get Madden and wait to pick up NBA on sale a ways down the road.

I think both are def. worth owning even if your not an NBA fan (ditto for FIFA) but I would suggest Madden as your first purchase. I've played it quite a bit more than NBA myself.

Speaking of going back 20 years ...

In 1994, a friend of mine had a 3DO. I remember going over to play and being blown away. I distinctly remember saying "It can't possibly get any better than this."

Oh how I wish I could show my 1994 self the PS4.

Ditto for my 1980s Atari 2600 self!!!

Is this with the "discount" we get for pre ordering via Amazon? Does it just recognize it and automatically apply it when signed in?

That I'm actually not sure of, I didn't order it yet (waiting to order it when I get paid Thursday), anyone who ordered the square trade warranty does amazon automatically know you purchased from them and apply a discount or do you have to do something?

I LOVE MADDEN!!! Not sure why it's been bashed by some. Graphics/Gameplay all have been improved IMO.

I hated on Madden before I played because it looked unimproved on videos. Glad I still went with it because I'm enjoying the game a lot!

quick question, is there anyway to import my PS4 share videos I post to my facebook to embed them in my post, I try and it doesnt work?

Check out this thread right here. Download them from fb and then just upload to youtube.

Tried the PS app last night to purchase a game (need for speed) and to download it it directly to my ps4 while in standby mode and it worked great. I purchased the game before I went to dinner with my family and when I get home, I fired up the PS4 and sure enough, need for speed was ready and waiting for me. Great feature in my mind as I can buy a guy while at work and have it download to my PS4 and it should be ready when I get home. Anyone else try this out yet?

Kevin, call me a crazed lunatic, but I'm enjoying Madden a lot more than 2K14, and I do follow the NBA fairly closely. Madden on next gen is only a modest graphical improvement, but for me the gameplay is much, much better than current gen. The blocking is much better, the coverage is better, the replay angles are very realistic, the UI is tremendously improved (no more lag), and there are finally (finally) in-game saves again.

Anyone looking to do a game-trade? Looking to swap FIFA for either Madden or 2K. No creation centre support means FIFA is pretty much worthless to me.

The number of affected PS4 systems is less than 1%, which represents a very small percentage of total units shipped to date and is within the expected range for a new product introduction. We understand the frustration of consumers that have had a problem and are working with them and our retail partners to help troubleshoot issues and ensure affected units are exchanged”

I finally hooked up my camera last night, and decided to give 'The Playroom' a go. I came away pretty impressed with the new camera. It is a definite improvement over the PS3 Eye. It works a lot better in low light, it is HD, and the head/body tracking is pretty impressive. I'm still impressed most by it's very small footprint, which is very low profile.

Setting up the facial recognition took literally seconds, and this was in a low light (one lamp) area. The mix picks up very good too, although I was in the room alone with no background noise. I didn't get a chance to try the facial recognition log in, because I forgot after I was shutting down for the night.

The Playroom was pretty neat too, despite being a tech demo it does have trophies. So it basically encompasses all the motion, camera and controller technology into different mini-games. It also looks like additional content is already slated for future release. Anyway, the AR 'drone' mini-game is neat in the sense that it shows off head and skeletal tracking, as well as controller location in space. I was surprised at how well it picked up my fingers... You can actually use your fingers to tickle or manipulate the AR drone (if your into that type of thing ). You can also slap him around (look out for retaliation tho lol), or push him away, or ignore him until he gets depressed. Speaking of retaliation, he will get mad and freeze or set fire to your head, the AR elements stick to your head as you walk around, until you douse the fire or chip the ice off... pretty neat, IMO.

The tiny bots mini-game showcases more AR, on a larger scale. One thing I noticed was that the camera has full spacial awareness. e.g. I was in the living room, where I had an ottoman in front of the couch. As I flicked the drones out of the controller, some actually rested on the ottoman (in 3D space) and some on the floor. They would actually walk around the living room, and off of camera and back. That's when I recognized that the camera software actually has zoom and pan capabilities built in! Vacuuming the tiny bots into the controller and viewing them inside was cool, see how the environment changed as you pressed different buttons. The number of bots was set too, so you could fling all of them out to AR space, leaving one inside in a sort of solo "disco" room. There is also a special appearance by one of the PS3 tech demo ducks in this mini-game.

The "system check" is a very futuristic HUD, AR sequence that highlights each feature of the controller and camera. During that sequence, the camera even zooms to your hand/controller for a close-up... more evidence of the camera software abilities.

I didn't get to try the AR hockey mini-game, since it is two-player only. I'm sure my 6-year old won't mind testing it out later.

...anyway, not too bad of an overall experience.

Yes. There are also settings to tell the system what you want (or don't want) to do when in the different modes.
