Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Most reviews from gamers have been overwhelmingly positive. With the lack of single player games on the PS4 the game is a no-brainer if you have PS+. Haven't spend enough time playing to tell you if it justifies a $20 purchase off the PSN store. For what it's worth I have seen others say it could retail at $40.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So anyone getting a crash CE-34878-0 since the patch? I had 3 just today while browsing through the friends list. Two of which came after I hooked up my Afterglow headset
It looks like this, then the entire system restarts. Do you think this could be from the headset itself or from the patch?

No, but Phobia, how do you like the afterglow headset. I saw one and was wondering what someone here had to say about it. Thanks.Moderator

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The problem is HOW it connects wirelessly and feeds audio.
First, the wireless dongle can't fit between the narrow usb gap on the ps4. It fits fine on the ps3 but the ps4 gap is to narrow so you need a male to female usb adapter to make it work. I by passed this with a 4 port usb hub I had laying around from rock band lol.
Second, the usb dongle then has a RCA red/white wire coming out that must plug into your TV's OUTPUT jack OR have the standard ps3 RCA plugs, plugged into it then plugged into the TV to work. Which on the ps4 this does not exist so I had to make this complicated process work by running HDMI from my console to the TV, then opitcal audio cable from console to my surround sound main unit, which then I took those RC red/whites and hooked it into my surround sound unit.
third, now I have to plug the LINE IN cable, to the ps4 controller to get sound to the afterglow headset. So I'm still tethered to my controller and not completely wireless.
So final point, they work excellent and none of these issues on the Playstation 3. Its completely wireless, the sound is fantastic, the mic is crystal clear, comfort is great but a tad bulky (I still like my turtle X12's much more), fantastic range, and provide great noise cancellation.
Now when you try and make these work for the Playstation 4, which understandably was not built to support the Playstation 4 then issues start to jump out.
If the new ones which they made for the playstation 4 remove these issues then they are a great headset. They feature some of the best range of a wireless headset I've ever used. My biggest complaint (outside of the connection issues) is they are to bulky.
I'm about to throw these on EBay for $60 and use that money to get the Gold PS4 7:1 wireless instead. They look lighter and should be a seemless process to hook up for both PS3 and PS4, I "hope"Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Can you use two sets of headphones on ps4? Like wireless turtle beaches through the WiFi and then another pair hooked into controller?
Reason I ask is this weekend going to boot up outlast this weekend with a buddy and without surround sound I don't want to miss immersion that comes with headphones and wondering anyway both could use different pairs at the same time.

My wife gives me enough grief for talking while I am gaming in a room by myself. I can only imagine if I had a buddy over and she walked in to see the two of us wearing headphones while we were right next to one another.
But I am very interested to know the answer. Not to do it myself but to know if the sound is processed individually for each player.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have a question about Standby mode. When I am done playing should I keep the console in standby mode or turn it off completely? Should I keep in in standby for just a few hours or on a daily basis?Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah it wont auto download stuff for me but with my connection it doesn't take long anyway. If the boot time was any better than a cold start than I might consider it but it isn't. So in the end, for me, standby doesn't really offer any benefit to leaving it on. Not saying standby is a bad thing, my pc stays on year round, but this being the first system that has the feature and more importantly being a launch console...I just dont feel like risking it.Comment

Since I set mine up I have only used stand by. My gaming PC has not been turned off in 5 to 6 years, so I follow that same mindset.Comment
