Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
1) Download the client (it's on PSN store.)
2) Set up a SquareEnix account
3) Press Play
4) ???
5) Profit
First thoughts on PS4 version: [caveat: I am a big fan of this game, so it's more on the controller and how the game runs.] Game is pretty smooth. Every once in a while framerates will drop a bit but nowhere near unplayable levels. Maybe from 60-35/40ish. Aside from not being able to click on a target (no mouse) everything using the PS4 controller is smooth. Movement/Camera are the joysticks so pretty standard. The cross hotbar for skills is pretty damn amazing. That ability to use any 24 abilities with a maximum of 3 button presses. Color me impressed.Last edited by ubernoob; 02-22-2014, 04:24 AM.badComment

Is this the first time you've used it? I know you've played this on PC (probably still do). I got used to the Cross Hotbar with a wired 360 controller on PC, loved it. Although I did still have some extra commands spread around the screen border, and I couldn't do that on PS4...1) Download the client (it's on PSN store.)

I'm downloading the beta and will mess around with it some. Whether it will pull me back in remains to be seen, but getting a fresh start on PS4 might be what I need to enjoy it again.Comment

Out of curiousity, is there anyway to hide what you are currently doing on everyone's friend list screen? Not the updates of what you have done in the feed at the bottom of the home screen, but what you are currently doing.Comment

Good Lord. I can't find a ps4 in the state. And given that there's no baseball on xbone, it's 100 dollars more and I don't know why, I'm just not gonna bother

Yes, go to PSN then Privacy settings then activity sharing. You change it there, it is in the drop down list.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Regarding FFXIV, after looking through the configuration options for a bit I noticed that all of the PC-style Hotbars still exist and can be added to the screen along with the Cross Hotbar. So, with the DS4 touchpad (which I also forgot about), I could have essentially the exact same HUD setup as I did on the PC. That's pretty impressive.Comment
