So I bought that Sony Wireless Gold headset. The price seemed really good and I had heard solid things about the official Sony headset for the PS3 back in my old Madden 12 league.
I was worried, as while Amazon was shipping it I read reviews that were mixed. A couple 8s and 9s, but also quite a few 6s and 7s.
After using it, and I admit, I do not have a lot of experience with headsets (I owned one Turtle Beach headset for my PS3 back in the day and it sounded fantastic but was not very comfortable and broke after a month) but I am pretty impressed and very happy. Extremely easy to use and set-up, and to me it sounds great. The chat problems that some reviews mention, and others don't, I wonder if people are wearing them backwards. There isn't any indication for this so it would be easy to confuse but the buttons should go on the left side, that side has the mic on the front. I think a lot of people might be wearing them with the mic behind their right ear which could be causing issues. I am very happy with the purchase, for 99 bucks it's a good deal. Sounds really good to me, the most comfortable headsets I have worn so far, by far. The app for sound mixing is cool too.
So, I just wanted to say, that even though I recently traded in every launch game except Killzone (I got massive trade in value, paid off Infamous, the Show, picked up Tomb Raider, and put down some money for Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition because I liked the beta for PC) I do not regret my PS4 purchase at all. I have spent time with both consoles, I have ran games side by side with XBone, PS4, and my mid-range gaming PC all simultaneously, and I am impressed with the PS4. Glad I jumped in day one. System has had no issues (I do dust every day before I go to bed though) I get a lot of value out of the PS+ free games and the f2p games, been enjoying DCUO quite a bit, and I just, overall, prefer playing on it over my XBone and even in some cases over my PC. The controller is, IMO, the best controller ever. It is just SO comfortable. They hit a home run here. Cross platform games are beginning to show more and more the added power of the PS4 and I expect this trend to continue quite a bit.
Can't wait to see this sytem evolve over the next 8 years
