The part of the power cord that plugs into the PS4 is hot, but the console itself is not.

Anybody having issues with their consoles lagging/freezing constantly? Happens mostly in the UI but happens in games as well.

I'll be navigating the UI and the screen will freeze in places for 5-15 seconds at a time then unfreezes. Or it just randomly becomes sluggish then freezes then stops. I've been playing a lot of FIFA 15 lately and the whole screen freezes but the game is still playing. I try to go back to the PS UI and it freezes there too.

I've tried the defrag tool but it hasn't seemed to have done much of anything. The problems started happening about a week ago. Anybody else having this issue?

My PS4 has started to shut off randomly. Has anyone else had this problem? It's on a desk so it's well ventilated.

2 questions: 1- what is the model of your PS4? 2- have you downloaded the latest Sys update?



Sony's firmwares are known to mess with the consoles (it happened at least twice with the PS4 and a few other on the PS3), and PS4 just got a new firmware update a few days ago.



The earlier models (CUH-10XX) are launch models, and so far, the only ones i have seen with problems not caused by firmware updates.

The model number is CUH-1001A.

I do have the latest software update, and now that I think about it, this problem started a few days ago. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but you could be on to something.

Yes it has become terrible in the last week or so..And my console is brand new Batman Edition...

All day yesterday closing apps and moving through dashboard was laggy....Seems stability firmware made things worst

Supposedly an acclaimed game......Journey release date July 21

I wonder what's the point in not allowing communication but just only a companion who you have no idea is? Love to hear an impression from someone on OS who has played this previously.

Journey is an indie game and it lets you take control of a robed figure in a vast desert, traveling towards a mountain in the distance. The game allows other players to join your gaming session and help you on your journey although the game won’t let you see their name or allow to talk to each other.

Journey has been one of the more praised games of last gen. I never played it and I kept picking up the Journey/FLow combo but never jumped. Guess I will now as I always wanted to play it.

Also I think I'm finally going to grab a new HDD after I get off from work and have a few days off (Starting Wed)

Journey was a wonderful game and you gained a special connection to the person you were playing with. You didn't know until the end who it was. I think that's what made it special.

It's a very well done game. The nonverbal interactions you can have with your partner was a unique experience I had never had in a video game before.

If the problem started just a few days ago, and something like this never happened before, i would say it's most probably a firmware thing.

Your model is the first one, maybe not the first batch (the one with problems on the hdmi port and with poor quality rubber on the analog sticks), but definitely the first model.

Previous firmware updates messed up with some consoles, some would not eject the disc at all, other repeatedly ejected the disc even when you were playing the game... It's possible that Sony releases another firmware update of these problems occur in a significant number and if they are really related to the last update.

Just realized tonight that my PS+ runs out finally on the 13th...
Almost 3 years not having to worry about it due to a Black Friday deal... Sort of snuck up on me lol

I have one more laying around somewhere (along with a Hulu Plus code).Can't seem to find them anymore after I moved, though...
