-20% off new games, so cost is $48 + tax.
-Trade in madden 15 next week, get $20 for it (should be $22 with gcu for extra 10%?)...apply towards madden 16, cuts cost to $26.
-trade above gets you a $10 coupon towards madden 16, cuts cost to $16.
-if you preorder madden 16, you get a $10 reward. It's for a future purchase, but essentially cuts the cost to $6.XBL: DTX3

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
To get the $10 in reward certificates you can't return the game within a certain period of time.. You usually have to wait about a month (or the return period) to get that applied to your best buy account.
But.. best buy would never know if you took the game to gamestop or anywhere else and traded it in.Comment

Also you can have a friend trade in the madden at best buy and he gives you the gift card and you use it on new game when you ready plus the $10 that you get from Best Buy after a few weeks and the discount for being a GCMComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The trade for Madden 15 is $20 credit either way...you get a bonus $10 coupon for Madden 16. If you want to use all $30 towards madden 16 and get it for $28 (if you have GCU)...then you can trade in for $40 or whatever...you have $22 in your pocket...a whole $2 more than if you didn't buy madden 16 at all and kept the $20 credit. You can sell on ebay for a bit more than the trade, you can preorder and still get that $10 credit.
Either way, seems like a lot of scheming for a couple bucks
Edit - didn't even consider tax on the purchase, so yeah, you'd be losing a few bucks if you did that. Only way to pull a bit of a profit is sell it where you'd get right around $60 being sealed and new.Last edited by joet6683; 08-10-2015, 10:28 AM.Comment

You pre-order M16 while you're there trading in M15 (this is what im going to do) and put the entire $32 towards M16. When you go pick up the game, you pay the remaining $16 plus tax. Two weeks later, you get the $10 reward certificate for pre-ordering. Overall, the cost ends up being $38 plus tax. Because you get a $10 reward certificate, the $16 becomes $6 plus tax so basically, $10.
Trade in the game while it's hot and im assuming that the trade in value will be $40 for four weeks which is what Best Buy did last year. Add in the 10% bonus, you'll get back $44. The game itself for me in NY is $52.25 including tax. Since im NOT including the reward certificate until after I receive it in this example, I'll end up getting $54 back. In short, a $1.75 profit and STILL played the game.
The reason why GCU is great and why Best Buy surpasses GameStop is simple - you get more for less and end up being able to play the game for free the majority of the time and still have the credit for your next game.
I'm actually going to buy a pre-owned copy of M15 at Best Buy and trade it right in to get the $12 difference. That saves me $12 on a game im only buying because im a GCU member and because of the $10 pre-order certificate. Unless the game blows me away which I already know it won't, it gets traded in a few days later. I save money in the short term and long term as the credit I get for M16 will go towards Mad Max/MGSV.
Seriously, with GCU, you can't lose and my limit is $20 on all disc based games so for me personally, if I end up spending $20 or less and was still able to finish the game (or in the case of Madden, play it for a day or so to see if it's worth continue playing) and then trade it in, im basically getting to play three games for the price of one. Plus, when I trade in games, im getting credit towards my next game which saves me money.
Unless you're a collector of games which im not, you literally can't lose unless you really want to include the sales tax which I don't because well, you get taxed on every damn thing except for food so no point in taking that into account.
For me, definitely worth it especially since I have four games in eight days between August 25th and September 1st. And after that, I have another five games starting October 9th for the rest of the year so for me, it's all about getting my money's worth and good trade in value for my next game.Last edited by daniel77733; 08-10-2015, 12:05 PM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Ok so it's been like almost a month now and I still can't figure out what is making my ps4 control lag with either my system or my tv. I just got a new ps4 2 weeks ago because of this, but I keep having the same issue. Can anyone know where should I check either on my ps4 settings or my tv setting if one of these are causing the problem?
Ps: my tv is a 32 inch Samsung smart tvSan Francisco Giants

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Are you absolutely certain the lag wasn't as bad before as it is now? Samsung TV's are very prone to lag. Three of the four Samsung TV's I have in my house at this very moment would be considered "lag-unfriendly" for gaming.
I've never had a settings issue of the sort, unless it was maybe battery related. Given that you've changed PS4's, try to change controllers. After that, I just think it's something you're finally noticing for the first time.
