I have read a lot about TVs, including here and on video game sites and have decided the TV I am going to buy is the Samsung KS8000 65" so there is no doubt in my mind that is the set I'm going to buy.

Then after that I guess will be replacing my Onkyo, LOL

For me, I couldn't get a picture at all. So I don't know if the picture cutting in and out is the same thing I was experiencing. But if you're having trouble, it's worth changing the HDCP setting to see if it works as a workaround.
I never experienced cutting in or out. If ps4 hdcp set to auto I get black screen on my LG 4k screen. I do hear the audio however so ps4 is communicating with tv but somehow not allowing video signal through. I'll check on a firmware update to my LG this morning.

That is the EXACT TV I have as well. You will be 100% fine, but like you said, if you're running everything through your receiver, sadly that will have to be upgraded as well to get the full 4k/HDR benefits through the A/V receiver. Obviously If you run the Pro directly to your Sammy, which I did, until I bought my updated receiver that will get you by without ARC/HDMI surround sound from the A/V unit. You can, which I also did, just run an optical out to your receiver to get 5.1 surround. My unit was 7.2 so I hated to downgrade to 5.1 through optical but it will certainly get you by until you can throw down another $400+ on an A/V unit. Expensive hobby we have.

Yeah, that's a good idea and how I will do it. But but but, when I bought this Onkyo it said it was....FUTURE PROOF! supported 4K and EVERYTHING..

My old Pioneer from 2014 said the same thing.... I highly, highly doubt your Onkyo is up to the HDCP 2.2 standard let a lone can do HDR passthrough. Hopefully it is for the bank accounts sake.

LG is notorious for leaving features out and telling you to buy the new models to get those features.

Sony and samsung gave firmware for their TVs and LG stated it was a hardware issue and they couldn't do it.

There was a huge petition online started by someone on the avs forums that pressured them into doing this, otherwise this would've never come

Downloading firmware update for my LG now. Hope it works and has no ill side effects. Decent response/latency right now even in HDR mode so I don't want it to get any worse.

Will update when it is done.

Done. HDCP 2.2 now working with TV. 3 reboots and still good. So am I gonna see any improvements to HDR or image quality? I doubt it but worth asking.

                  Thanks.

With the Pro, do you need to buy a new HDMI cable that supports the 2.2 input?

No, the cable included in the box satisfies those requirements.

Since you have the PSVR you're gonna have to switch the hdmi cables each time as the breakout box doesn't do HDR.

Yeah I've read about that, well honestly my pro will be used in my gaming room as a regular system or in the living room with the PSVR so I guess it won't matter for me add I'll be moving it anyways

I would have the PSVR in my game room but I don't have enough space

I never even thought of this. I'm buying the same tv and have on okyno receiver I just bought last year. I have to replace that too if I want to take advantage of 4k?

Edit: just back read a bit more. Wife is gonna kill me. I picked an awful time to setup a gaming room.

Is there an optical out port on the tv? Trying to figure out if you can make my current receiver last a while longer.
