When the PS4 first came out Sony was only charging $18 more than it cost them to build it. Sony has never really profited from console sales. It’s about games for them.

This...it's been the model for gaming profit for years (lose a little or break even on consoles).

They also make good change on accessories sales, licensing fees to developers, etc. But you gotta get the hardware out there.

This is the first generation that they make a little money on hardware. They took a bath on the PS3 and always planned on software to make up the difference. I think both Sony and MS have realized they can’t take losses like that anymore. Nintendo makes a profit on everything they sell.

Think it's for new PS4s only, but joined my first community since I bought mine on Black Friday and got a notification for a 10$ credit for my wallet. Worth a shot if you have a new PS4. Will use it during the Christmas sales.

Not sure but if someone like wanted to get the pro and already has the regular ps4 you could traded in your regular ps4 that has a trade in value of like 100 and get the 50 gift card for trading in. So you would basically be paying 250 instead of 400 for the system.

So I lost power the other day and it corrupted my PS4 into an endless loop of safe mode.

So I had to basically start from scratch and lost everything. Which isn’t that bad because I can just redownload everything but apparently not all of my saves were being automatically uploaded so I lost my progress in a few of them. Very frustrating.

Moral of the story is to make sure all of your saves are being backed up online.

Did you have a surge protector? Not sure if it had to do with a power surge or if it was only just a drive corrupting itself.

Yeah it’s on a surge protector. It was in the middle of loading a save file so that might have been what messed it up. I’ve lost power before while playing and that hasn’t happened to me before.

I've noticed not all my games auto upload saves as often as others. I checked the settings and everything is good. Not sure why that happens.

I have my TV and consoles on a ups so I can save and shutdown safely. We have dirty power here too so a ups is a good investment for that sort of thing.

It doesnt look like it. Part of their terms and conditions states offer is limited to one per customer and account. Im sure if they didnt put that in there then they would have lost a lot of money on this promotion as many people would have done what are stating.
