I didn't read your transcript, but yeah, non-refundable preorders have been a thing for a while. It's lame.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I picked up the Pro on Friday. After initially playing a few games I was pretty disappointed. Things didn’t look crisp and I honestly wasn’t seeing anything better. Things were darker and washed out. This was on my 65” 4K TV. It’s a lower end LG UJ6300. But after I turned off HDR everything looked a LOT better. Brighter, nicer colours, crisper. I’ve now read there are some issues with HDR on this TV in gaming mode. The gaming mode is necessary because the input lag is really good but also noticeable if not using it.
So I am actually pretty happy right now with HDR off. HZD, NBA 2K19 and RDR2 look really good on the Pro. HZD in the canyons looks fantastic. 2k is sharp on the 65” instead of just nice and lacking a little detail. My son said it’s really noticeable on COD. And my daughter popped in UC4 and it looked really good too. I just wish I had GOW still (trades it in to help pay for the Pro) as I’d love to see that in 4K. (And I already platinumed HZD too - should have bought this sooner!).
So it may be HDR on this TV or not. Either way I’m happy. And this system hasn’t been loud. Been quiet actually. I had a second generation PS4 that was 4 years old and could be loud. I expected it to sound worse. I took out my old 1 TB HDD and using it as an external so I have 2 TBs now.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
HDR Gaming Mode, at least on the lower-end LGs, is worthless.
I have a 55-inch LG 4K TV that's on the lower end. HDR Gaming Mode is too dark and dingy. Standard HDR looks great on my Pro, but then I've got input lag. So I just turn off HDR for the Pro.
I actually emailed the guy who did the ratings for my TV at rtings.com. He ran some tests and emailed me the results to confirm it was that model of TV and not just mine specifically. I'm pretty sure he mentioned it's an issue with Gaming Mode on LGs. Pretty cool that he took the time to do that.
I contacted LG several times asking them to look into it for a firmware update, but no dice.Comment

LG barely gave their OLED a firmware update for their gaming issues. I doubt the lower end models will get anything.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
A tv that says HDR does not mean it is good HDR. If you want good HDR you are going to have to step up in price.
There is only 1 tv that is cheap in price that does good HDR and that is the TCL 6 series. But even then it does not match the higher end Samsung, OLED from LG and Sony or high end Sony tvsComment

The tv you have has very low contrast which is about 1096 and hdr peak brightness is about 300 nits so yeah turn it off and play in SDRComment

I remember playing Tetris in the late 80's at an old girlfriends home at the time and enjoying it. Game Informer goes over all the different modes of the game. Game will also be available for free for a short time only starting this Thursday, for flat and vr. Soundtrack sounds amazing. Love the level with the jazz tunes.

Media Molecule discusses more about Dreams and the Beta with questions answered, well sort of. Still predicting by end-of-the- year. PSVR will not be available during beta.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So 86.1 if it does the same holiday numbers of 5.9 that it did last year that would put it at 92 and I think it will do higher has there are more big games that have like just came out close to holiday time than there where at this time last year. Than you still have October, and like half of November that is not considered holiday season. If it does 1.5 in that month and a half you are looking at 93.5 and those are like on the low end side. https://gematsu.com/…/ps4-worldwide-...p-86-1-mill…
I could see it doing more like 7 this holiday season that would mean 94.5 and that 1.5 for that other month and a half is on the low end so really it should end the year at like 95-96 million.Comment

Honestly, I have seen more stories and bad reports about HDR and not always looking good, In my personal opinion, I think HDR is a bit overatted and I have two 4K TV that do HDR. I don't think HDR has been master like customers think, but you will get guys who swear by it and defend it like crazy. I think it still think its a work in process.N.Y Mets
