Ugh now another issue. The media remote works fine in the family room (outside of the aforementioned skip issues on that receiver.) When I set up the tv in the bedroom, it sent the mute and volume down commands successfully. But using the media remote the volume doesnt work, though mute works fine. Everything is breaking!!

What's the make and mode of the TV that works and doesn't work?

Never mind on this one - I am using an IR emitter here since I am leaving its Kinect in the family room with the S. I ever so slightly moved it and it now works with the media remote.

Not sure why the emitter location would work with volume testing the connection and then everything but volume works with the media remote...but whatever, a half inch and everything is working now.

If it helps you in any way to figure out any IR issues with anything, the model is Samsung LN40B530P7F.

It's odd...it recognized Nick Jr once, but took me to the non HD version....

Still not recognizing those channels consistently, but overall I feel Cortana hears better and will probably get better as well.

Hey everyone,

Due to a re-organization (which happen a lot at Microsoft) I no longer work on anything TV or OneGuide related. I am now full time on Groove Music and will be working to improve the quality of that product and user experience.

I'll still answer questions here, as I am probably still the most knowledgeable person at Microsoft when it comes to OneGuide stuff end-to-end, but just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

I really appreciated all the feedback and questions you provided. I never imagined this would hit 98 pages when I started the thread. Amazing!

HA! Well send me all your feedback. 2 weeks ago I effectively became the owner of 80% of the app's UX and ~60% of the underlying platform code. I don't own any of the services or anything, but I can always route feedback appropriately.

Ok I have an easy as heck question for you...when you are playing a playlist is there a way to randomize the tracks? I made a playlist with like 10 hours of music to play Forza too but I end up always just hearing the first two hours of it, LOL

LOL! Yeah. So if you go to Now Playing by using the left nav or pressing "X" while in Groove (yep, I used my OneGuide knowledge to make that happen ) you can press "A" to bring up the transport controls. There should be an icon with 2 lines that cross that means "shuffle."

(I'm assuming you mean Xbox, not PC)

Yep that did it, it even let's me shuffle the whole collection which is awesome. I never even knew that menu existed LOL

Studbucket - I bought Forza Horizon 3 yesterday (mind blowingly great btw) and fired up Groove Music. It started building my library as if it was the first time doing so. It took, I dunno, 3 or 4 minutes, not too long really but I'm wondering if it's going to be doing this all the time as it could get quite annoying.

Is this something that happens because I don't pay the subscription fee (yes I'm suspicious like that LOL) or maybe because I got an update or does it just periodically rebuild the library?

I'm just wondering if this is going to be an ongoing thing (hope not)..

Definitely shouldn't be a regular thing. This must be the first time you've launched our app on console in a while. Am I wrong?

When I used to have groove it took forever it sync my collection. One of the reasons I ditched it.

I don't have a collection, but is there a way or a particular client that can shuffle a playlist for me? Forza plays it in the same order every time, so 20 Linkin Park, 6 Volbeat, 4 Nickelback, etc. I know, Nickelback, but whatever, don't judge me . Same order whenever I play.
