The PS4 definitely have cleaner graphics. Nothing earth shattering, but it is a the crisper system.

Also, one must remember that online videos do neither of these consoles justice.

As Pared mentioned, the Smartglass for Xbox One app is phenomenal. You can watch game dvr clips for any game right on your mobile device, you can use it to bring up the manual/help without snapping (useful for KI movelists). It truely is a useful secondary screen. Comparing it to Smartglass for 360, Is like Kinect 2.0 compared to Kinect -- same in name only.

Ok I know this isn't a Q&A part of this thread but I gotta know. If you say "XBox turn on PS4" does it really turn it on?

Last gen the devs developed most multi plat games for the Box and ported over to the 3. Games didn't look as good on the 3 that were multi plat because of this. I hope next gen since the 4 is supposedly a lot easier to develop for than it was on the 3 that we don't get dumbed down games on the 4.

Since I mostly play Sony exclusive games on the PS3 like the Show and Naughty Dog's offerings there is only one choice for me.

As a lifelong Xbox owner, I'm on the fence about what system to buy this time around and I really appreciate the conversation.

Leaning toward the PS4 at this point because of baseball..

Yeah, if Baseball is really your number one objective, then get the system for The Show. Otherwise, I'd say XB1 all the way. I need to get PS4 down the line for the same reason.

Honestly - telling someone both systems are awesome doesn't help someone reading this thread. They know that already.

I don't get the point of this thread if you can't discuss the advantages and drawbacks. This isn't pre-school - I think guys like mgo really want to know which system you would get if to can get just one.

For me, that's not an option. I bought a PS4 to play the Show. If you're not a baseball gamer then that means nothing to you. Maybe you prefer a Sony exclusive but hey - you know that, not one of us.

If I didn't care about baseball and I wanted a system that could do more than play games, I get the Xbox One.

If I want to get the best looking multi-platform games and don't care about MS exclusives - I go PS4. Mind you, the 360 was the better multi-platform system las gen as these games were ported over to PS3 and it showed. I never bought NBA 2k on the PS3. Ugh. It's that much better on the PS4.

And you know what? Something I haven't seen anyone say is just how fantastic the XboxOne mobile app is. You can see very crisp video highlights uploaded from your friends on your phone or tablet. This is a great touch and I find myself checking out my friend's highlights when I have some free time on my iPhone.

I also wondered this as well as far as not being able to speak the pros and cons on these systems without people bashing each other. I own the ps4 and been playing my buddy's one the past couple of days and I notice the multiplatform games look a bit better on the ps4. That's why I went with the ps4 this time around. I was an Xbox guy last gen even though I also owned a ps3. This time I went ps4. So far I can't complain since I've been enjoying my system. Multiplatform games looking better is nice and MLB the show is the icing in the cake. Also, I'm not a big fan of the voice stuff, but that's just me.

Having both systems, I'm playing Forza and Ryse more than anything else.

I'm also really looking forward to Titanfall.


Second Son, or one great first party title, for the PS4 would have helped me like it more.

I have both. I will say this, remote play is huge for me. The rear touchpad hack to replicate the missing buttons is nasty though. The voice command for the One is really nice, but has some quirks - like I can't say watch by channel number. How stupid is that? It also can't turn on my receiver.

I am happy that there a distinctive difference in what each console offers - makes owning both at launch a good idea.

Xbox One:

Pros

• Great controller
• More familiar interface
• Kinect works really well
• Solid launch lineup
• Good multitasking feature
• Good microphone in package
• Easy party chat option

Cons

• Very few F2P options
• Hard to press bumper buttons
• Requires the Kinect to move around quickly
• No broadcasting feature (yet)
• No GREAT game at launch

PS4

Pros

• Great controller
• Easy to use interface
• The suspend/menu button works really well
• Sharpest NG graphics
• Lots of F2P options, and most of the titles are fun
• PSN store is really easy to navigate

Cons

• Really buggy online
• Not a great launch lineup
• It's clunky to find friends/play with friends

So as I expected, there is more I like about the Xbox One, and more I dislike about it. The PS4 is a more solid gaming machine, but I use a lot of the media features and online functionality, and I think the X1 wins that battle. It's going to be a really great generation of gaming!
