Because sales indicate health of the console and affect future price drops, exclusives and bundling.

I don't think you understood my question. How does it affect me Art and you Odogg if all 3 major players will be around? I think price cuts are always good for the consumer, but sales charts aren't doing anything for me and you since both consoles are doing well in the states. As of late I've been playing my ps4 more than my Xbox because I'm in a league in the show and project cars and that's all I worry about, having fun regardless of the console. I don't ever go online seeking sales charts because it's irrelevant. Video games used to be about gaming and having fun, but now it's become worrying about sales...

Well I never used to worry about sales either until the death of my beloved Dreamcast.

You are right that once you buy a system then sales is much less relevant to you but the system that is ahead can often land exclusives so their is a reason to be aware of how the systems are doing.

I do agree it's silly to bring up system sales in ongoing debates as something that makes one worth buying over the other, after all what is more popular doesn't make it better....for example I'll take Queen over Kanye any day

The systems have been out almost 2 years now. If you can't figure it out by now, then a thread of bickering, trying to prove the system you spent $400 on is better, etc isn't going to help you.

I'm tired of reading what this thread has become, so it's done.
