Are PS4's known for flaky network cards or did I buy a lemon?
I also tried something which leads me to think there may be a possible WIFI solution, but what gets me is I shouldn't have to rely on WIFI if I want to plug in a LAN cable. Anyway, while I don't presently have a wireless router setup at home, with the PS4 I did go searching around for a connection. All the routers within talking distance of my PS4 were password protected. But I did run across a "CISCO-guest" connection and I was able to pass the PS4 Internet connection test using this WIFI connection. However once I tried to logon to PSN using this connection it failed giving me an error code and I googled this error code and it appeared to be some sort of firewall error message. But because I did pass the PS4 Internet connection test using this "CISCO-guest" WIFI connection, I am guessing if I was to setup a wireless router at home I might be able to use the WIFI. But then once again, I should not need to have to go through this nonsense. I should be able to just plug the LAN cable in like I can with the PS3, shouldn't I?
PS: I only really need the internet connection to download game patches and to download from the PSN Cloud my MLB 14 season progress I started on the PS3 console. I am not much of an online gamer.
