    Play the Original Xbox Again.

    With Xbox One and the PS4 allowing certain elder gen games to run on their new systems, I had a desire to get the original Xbox to play some of my favourite sports titles.

    Currently, I'm playing NFL 2K5 and NFL Fever 04. I'm having a lot of fun jumping back into these older games. I also ordered, MVP 05. This is my most favourite baseball title ever, and I may pick up High Heat as well. These were great times for sport gamers and I'm enjoying my trip back to the past. These games hold up well after all these years and they bring me a lot of joy.

    I have both the Xbox One and the PS4 and love those systems and I have all the sport titles for them, except Handball 16. So, in no way am I running away from today systems...I'm just relishing playing in the past to.

    What older systems do you still play on a consistent manner?

    I'm looking to find a new copy of Links. That's the next game I want to add.

      I'll bring out my Dreamcast every so often so I can play Shenmue.

          I still have the full compliment of sports games on my OG XBox and I bought the ones I didn't have off ebay. I've got almost every sports game from EA, Sega/2K, Acclaim, XSN/Microsoft, Midway, Codemasters, and the makers of High Heat (3DO?). I love revisiting them from time to time. Some of them really do hold up very, very well.
          Favorite Sports Teams

          NFL - Carolina Panthers
          NBA - Charlotte Hornets
          MLB - Cincinnati Reds
          College Basketball - Wake Forest
          NCAA Football - Appalachian State

              I'm also a big fan of revisiting the retro games. Just something about the games you enjoyed back then still being enjoyable now and bringing back memories.

              Inside Drive 04 is one I regularly go back and play. Here Comes The Pain on the PS2 also.

                      That is excellent. NFL 2k5 is a fantastic game.

                      My favorite sports experience and the game I still play the most is NCAA '12 on the Xbox360 (see signature for my work). Someday I would like to have a setup where I can keep multiple old systems all hooked up at the same time.

                          Oh yeah, I definitely go back to older games/consoles. For me, the PS2 is still king in many ways. I'm currently playing NCAA 06, NFL 2K5, NBA Street Vol. 2, SSX Tricky, Gran Turismo 4 and a bit ATV Off-Road Fury and NHL Hitz Pro 2003. So many great sports titles for that era of gaming and as others have said, a lot of those games still hold up.

                                  I regret selling my Xbox just because of ESPN NFL 2K5. It's one thing for me to get them back again, but I also had everything queued up. I was beyond eight years in a Chargers franchise that I played every game of. I had stadium sounds all ready to go. I was way decked out in the Crib. My V.I.P. was fully fleshed out. I had replays saved up the wazoo. I also had a green Halo edition Xbox that was sexy as hell.

                                  I only bought sports games on it, I got everything else on PS2. Oh, the Burger King games were also for that...

                                      I have a PS4 also but I'm definitely glad I kept my original XBOX and 46 games. I'll crank up Black or Mega Man Anniversary Collection the most or Taito Legends so I can play the original Space Invaders when I feel like going old school.

                                          Man I want my Fight Night round 3 , Def Jam FFNY , Midnight Club , and NBA Street �� These new games haven't replaced these.

                                                  Nope, just being honest. I'm certainly nostalgic about some titles, but for the most part they're better off staying there, personally.

                                                      Man, love Def Jam. I ran through it again only a few months ago. No idea how many times that is now.
